I figured the subject title would get peoples attention!!:)
But really I am calling on all Colorado Bulls!!
Actualy I was hoping some of you might have some pictures of bulls that were shot in 2nd or 3rd season unlimited tag areas here in Colorado. I want to show my wife what is and may be possible for her to find!
Show her some bulls please?

I think I figure it out. We didn't see any elk of the first morning, no sign, tracks nothing. I only had opening day to hunt so I was going to shoot the first legal bull I saw. In the afternoon about 2:00 I heard a bugle down a nasty canyon and thought "it's november, elk don't bugle in November it's so dumb crap hunter." After about 20 more bugles I thought that I would just check it out. When I dropped into the canyon I saw at least 100 elk down in the bottom with 4 four points and screwy looking 5 X 2 and another bull that I could not see but he was still bugling. We waited about an hour and a half before he finally stepped out. One bullet from the .280 dropped him smack in his tracks and never got up. Sorry for the head removed pic. I didn't have a camera with me (of course) and we had to pack him out a long way.

Marley,
That's awesome, thanks for the story and Picture!!

That's a decent bull no doubt...but why did you whack his head off 1/2 way down the neck? If you had him mounted you have to be regretting that now...

I knew from the beginning that I did not want to mount him. I did a Euro mount on him and it turned out really nice. Not big enough to mount in my book. But I have the wall space reserved for my aoudad that will be done in 2 weeks.

Thanks for the psats guys!! Anybody else?? Even small raghorns, I want to show her all types of success stories, I want her to have an honest oppinion of what she may have a chance at.

Thanks again for the posts!! Great Bulls!!

Nice bull...they are all trophies.

Nice gun. Would that be a Remington model 700 BDL????

Thanks Toughshed,

It took two days to pack it out due to very thick brush.

That Rifle is an old Ruger M77 in 3006.

When I was a lot younger I called it a gun in front of my Father who had been a Marine. He taught me a dirty limerick his DI taught him in boot camp when he made the mistake of calling his Garand a gun. Part of the limerick went like this. "This is my Rifle, This is my Gun. This is for fighting, this is for fun". According to my Father the DI made him do this in front of the class with his pants down below his knees and his rifle held above his head.

Opening morning just after sunup, I hear some bugling, think to myself, what dumba$$ is blowing on a bugle in November. I kept looking up the hill in that direction and I see the elk coming across the hill toward me. A whole line of cows come down the hill in front of me and finally this bull steps out. I also had a second tag for a cow, right after I downed the bull, I tagged a cow also. Season over in 30 minutes.

That is awsome!! We are hunting 11/211 this year for deer and elk, so your picture and story is perfect!!! Thanks!!
