NM unit 15 and 16

if you draw the tag can do you have to have a guide to hunt these areas? never elk hunted before, but thinking about maybenext year. i've been reading some of the posts on these units and people are getting guide recommendations. just curious how it works.

No, you don't need a guide in a wilderness area in NM
Good units, tough draw.

If you enter the draw as a guided applicant, you need to go with that guide. If you apply un-guided, you can still hunt with a guide if you want but don't have to.
