I have a friend that drew a tag in New Mexico good news bad news is it's archery and he hurt his arm at work and can't even draw his bow. Can you get a refund with a doctors note or can he transfer the tag. Nocalhonker

Don't know about NM, but you can't do that here in Utah. My friend who died in the Neola North fire had drawn an elk tag, but they won't let anybody else use it.

Not sure about NM, but in AZ you can transfer the tag to a junior hunter. Look into the "Hunt of a Lifetime" organization. They help get hunts for kids with serious illnesses. Archery might be a challenge for them however... If he wanted he should also be able to use a crossbow on the archery tag with a doctors note. That's pretty standard everywhere as far as i know. Call the Game and Fish in your area.

I would call NM. I have heard of tags being sold to high bidders by people who drew them in that state.
