I just came back after checking out one of the places my daughter and I were planning to cow elk hunt with our muzzle loaders. It has been a number of years since I've been up on that part of the Red Cloud Loop and I couldn't believe all the logging that has occured. Any way, I found some elk sign, but not as much as I expected. Anyone have any suggestions for us? Our hunt is during the muzzle loader deer hunt at the end of September. I'm really looking for an opportunity for my daughter to get into some elk. She'll only have the weekend to hunt because of school.
