Fishlake Muzzleloader Elk Hunt

I have been lucky engough to draw a LE Elk tag for the Fishlake with my muzzleloader this year.

We have been up scouting a lot this year and have seen some good bulls. It was amazing how much the archery deer hunters have moved the elk this weekend tough.

The bad thing about drawing a Muzz tag, is we are after the Archery and the Rifle guys.......does anyone have any good spots to look up on the Fishlake during this muzzy hunt.

I am not asking for some super secret spot, and yes, I have been doing my scouting. I just know this will probably be the last elk tag I draw in Utah, as the odds are so bad and I want to make sure I do all I can to kill a good bull.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try upper UM creek near mount Terril. Get away from the road and visit with herders if you can find their camps. Stay away from people and when ya find the cows the bulls will be right there. They will be vocal and love cow calls at that time of year.

You're screwed. There are never any good bulls left on Fishlake by the time the muzz hunt comes around. All the good bulls get killed on the archery or rifle hunt. You'll be lucky to find a 320 bull at best. I think the biggest bull on the whole unit is probably no bigger than 345. You're wasting your time, and have wasted your points on a crappy muzzeloader hunt on a crappy unit.

Good Luck on your 320 bull

Tattertot....you know, you are a real JERK!!!!! This is one reason that these forums are stupid sometimes!!!!! I can tell that you have NEVER spent any time on the Fishlake!!!

Last year I know of two bulls killed over 375 on the Muzz hunt. I have talked to a couple of well known guides that have seen two bulls over 400" on there THIS YEAR!!!!!!! And yes, they know what a 400 bull is!!!

This is why I usually stay off of these forums......jack a** like you!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're funny!!!

I thought I might get that out of you!!!

This is cast 'em & blast 'em from DWR forum.

To clue everyone in, a member of my family has the same tag as FishlakeElkhunter. We know each other, and I'm just giving him a hard time.

And by the way there really aren't any big bulls around Fishlake, or spikes, or cows, or deer, or big macs in the lake. So no need for anyone to come down to hunt or fish.

Good luck to all!

OH BOY!!!!!!!!!! Now dont I feel stupid!!!!!!!!

Hook, line, sinker, reel, pole and half the boat!!!!!!!!!

Well, it was a good thing that I didnt say what I really wanted to say then huh!!!!

I had a guy over on the DWR site send me a nasty message the other day becasue of some stuff I had said about muzzleloaders so I guess I was a bit jumpy!!!!!

NO harm Tatter........I am sure we will see you on the MTN>

Boy you local boys get wound up!!!!

Let's just get you two together up here behind the school, settle this stuff, and then go hunting!!!!!!
I read the first post from tattertot and it cracked me up, and then Jason came back with his!!! That is funny!!!
Guess that is why I check in every now and then!
And most of the time things are cool, just once in a while one of the a**'s that FEH is talking about have to muddy the waters.
