Kids grandpa on August 18th went geo caching and got cordinates to go and him and his friend went up parked and found this bull dead next to where they parked.
As I was heading up to pick up wife at airport I swung in to see him and we where talking and he was telling me about finding this bull dead. Well never really thought anything of it as each person has different opinions of size of elk. Well he said he had pictures of it. I went inside and he showed it to me. I was dumbfounded at the size of this bull. I asked if he got the rack or the ivories and he said they did not have a knife with them. He also said it was stinking really bad and was hard pressed to get pics of it. Because of smell. Well I then told him we would go get it that saturday which was on Sept 1st. He ended up not being able to go and me pleading with him to tell me how to get there he gave me coordinates to the geo cache and explained exactly where the bull was laying. Said I could not miss it. Never being in that area before I got there and saw it was some great area. Found my way to it pretty good and from his pics found the bull. I was shocked at seeing him laying there still after the tims since Dennis found it. I can not smell at all and was a easy chore to pack this bull out. I checked and the ivories where gone and found 4 wheeler tracks and pickup tracks right up to it. But the horns where still there. I got the horns cut off and carried this big fellow out and back to the truck. Off I went heading home. Called a ton of people and had them waiting at my house for me when I got home to see him. Put a tape to him and he scored. I will wait to see what the guesses are of him. Smallest score is 14". His outside spread is 49". Inside is 43 1/2" I will give you those. Also his daggers are 22" and 21 1/2.
But here are the pics and if you want to guess the score I will post it in a couple days.
