New Mexico OTC

I have been considering hunting NM this year and was wondering what all the units that border AZ are like. I hunted NM several years ago when I was stationed in Clovis but I hunted the NE part of the state. I am just curious how hard those units get hit with hunters and the quality of deer there. I'm not any areas, just an overall picture of that part of the state. Thanks

I don't have much specific information for you, just general. I am more familiar with the southeastern part of the state. I know a group of guys that hunts the Gila Wilderness every year. There are plenty of hunters there, but a little effort to get away from the roads will help. Most of the public land I've seen gets hit plenty hard. With the last year for OTC tags, it might be worth checking it out.
