380/406..2 San Juan Archery Bulls!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-10-07 AT 11:52AM (MST)[p]Well we feel like we made the right call to stop hunting the 40" buck, and "settle" on a great muley and start chasing monster bulls.

It has been an exciting/fun 2 weeks or so. Hunting my buck (see deer forum) with Kylor, to Hunting with a great guy/hunter(Jim) and my best friend Kylor with his elk tag...

Both tagged out over the weekend.
Jim's bull a big, beautiful almost perfectly symmetrical 6x6, that goes right at 380. Thanks Jim for a great hunt.

Guru or not, we knew it was only a matter of time before HE showed up to all the cows we had been watching in the area that we got the trail camera pics. from. ?..scouting/glassing does pay!

As a reminder, here is one of the trail camera pics. From the pic., we had this bull somewhere between 388-396, as did most of you.

Well he is a little better then we thought.
Kylor's bull as we called him all summer, top out at 406!
Besides the huge rack,this bull had one of the biggest bodies that we had ever seen.

Both bulls back at camp together. mmmmm....loOk at all those thirds!!

Hope you enjoy, we will have a few days rest before saturday rifle hunters....we have seen a few more that will push the 4-mark..hopefully we can get them on the rifle hunt.

Wow, those two bulls are STUDS! Those thirds look even bigger than on the trail cam without velvet. I bet you guys had one happy camp with that success!

thanks for all the kind words guys. Although I can't take to much credit for Kylors even though I would like too. Besides being my best friend, he also works/guides/films/spots for us, and knows exactly what he is doing. I was just happy to be a part of two awesome archery hunts, and can't wait for this weekend.

Wow all I can say is WOW

Of course with the photos of the Antlers together it only goes to show that it is VERY VERY VERY Difficult to tell a 380 from a 400 inch bull and most people would have no clue. An inch on an antler here and there and there you go. Those look very very similar. I am jealous.

Thanks all for the kind words and fun in guessing the score.It was an awsome hunt and one well worth the wait. Thanks to Travis and Randy for helping in gitting this awsome hunt on film. It was hard not having my two boys with me but now they will get to watch it and enjoy what was an incredibal experance.

Travis this bull has all the extras to go 406 less 3 for the width and less 3 on the number 5. My guess is 409 less 6 on the fronts and less 6 on the 5th and width but I have to give him an extra 4 on the extra mass 397 plus 4 =401 . So tell us what you think since your the guru. What a great bull and thirds like that I am thinking 10 years old thanks for shareing.
