I live and hunt in utah and have seen a lot of good bucks lately and I want to know if anyone has seen any monsters yet that they will be going after?

Reflex,

I am getting stoked! I took a 3 hour horse ride a couple of days ago. I went up and around some posted property, back deep into a canyon. Yes, I do get out from time to time and do not spend all of my time stirring it up here at MM. ;-) Ran into a fine bachelor herd of Utah studs!

I found a great 2 point about 16" wide with really good points. Man, he had a big body. He will be a great meat buck the last 5 days of 'THE HUNT'. ;-) One was an excellent 3x4 he wasn't very wide, about 20", but he was damn near as tall. He has 'character.' Another I could not tell points, but he was really wide, mid to low 20's. The last one was, I believe a 4x5, eyeguards and some mass. He was 24" wide. I got an outstanding view of this one.

I am ready! ;-) I will keep looking though. I am looking for a true Monster Mulie. While these qualify around these parts, the quest will continue. I know they exist. I just know it!

I am going to go polish my Swarovskis and .270. :) I am going to go look at my Nosler book and find some really hot loads for these babies.;-)

Hope you find some. Good luck.

I have been seeing quite a few good bucks this year. I do beleive the moisture has definitely helped a bunch with the horn growth. I beleive a few nice bucks will fall this season in UT. Alot of the bucks I am seeing seem to be in the 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 year olds category. Probably more 3 1/2 year olds than I've seen for a few years. The 3 1/2 year olds are at the 21"-24" wide stage and look to have great potential. I hope a few of them are able to make it through until next year. If they are able to make it through and we can get another wet spring/summer I think next year could be great! I have only seen 1 monster that will break the 30" mark. Unfortunately I will not be able to go after him since I can't hunt this year in UT. I tagged out on both of my first 2 years of the dedicated hunter program so the 3rd year I get to sit the bench. :( It's all good. I can still scout here locally for next year and go through all the motions. The only thing different is that I won't be able to pull the trigger. One nice thing is that I won't have to go up and deal with the crowds during the hunt either. I was lucky enough to draw a WY and CO buck tag that should also help keep me occupied until next year too! :)

Good luck,
