Just wanted to know if anyone has been to Yellowstone park lately, and knows if the elk are bugling, fighting, and if they have rounded up their cows yet? Im trying to plan a weekend trip to look at some elk and wanted to go when there is some action.
Thanks

I was in the park on Friday and I saw over 200 elk near the Lamar Valley. Bugling like crazy and trying to herd cows. Fun to watch.
Oh, I didn't see any wolves.

Another good place to see some good elk rutting activity is the national bison range in montana, near st ignatius about an hour north of missoula

LAST EDITED ON Sep-17-07 AT 09:49PM (MST)[p]I guess I am trying to say its changed quite a bit in the park, and it is NOTHING like it was before the Canadian Monsters were INTRODUCED not re-introduced...

But great going! Really, Congrats on finding the areas where elk still gather and rut because these areas are becomming fewer and farther between as compaired to recent years...

The wolves were lined up back in the trees just out of sight getting ready for elk steaks, they were just waiting for darkness to set in. Suns a beotches!!
