I was doing some preseason scouting(sitting on one of my waterholes) yesterday and i had a lot of deer blow out so i was wondering if there are any really good scent killers. I use H.S. Scents Scent Away spray.

Throw all your gear in a sealed bag with an open bag of plain charcoal. It will absorb anything that has scent. P.S. dont put any wafers in the bag.

?Scent-No-Mo? Spray (home-made)

Ingredients:

16 oz. (2 cups) hydrogen peroxide, 3% solution (normal type found in drug stores)

16 oz. (2 cups) distilled water

1/4 cup baking soda

1 oz. unscented shampoo (Cabela?s hunting shampoo is okay)

Note: remember > 32 oz. = 1 quart; expand ingredient amounts proportionately for larger amount of end product.

Directions:

(1) Mix ingredients in large bowl so baking soda dissolves (water, then peroxide, then baking soda, then soap).

(2) Pour into clean 1 gal. plastic milk jug (easily found in most homes). Note: do not shake!

(3) Let sit at moderate temperature for several days until chemical reaction settles down. Note: do not leave in tightly sealed container (use milk jug with snap-on cap)!

(4) Pour prepared mixture into clean spray bottle(s) of your choosing.

HAPPY HUNTING!

Reflex if you want a good scent killer for nothing go out to your local hill side pick 4-6 small branches of sage brush take them home. when you get home take 2 cups of water (enough to fill a small spray bottle) and put in enough sagebrush to fill the bottom of the pan you dont have to crumble it just break off the green sections and boil for 5 minutes (hard boil) the water will turn green. Let the product cool for approx. 30 minutes otherwise you will melt the bottle. once cooled fill bottle with product in the pan you will definitely notice a real sagey smell insert one leaf or green section of sage into bottle this will help keep it strong for years to come. I tried this last year and when i cracked open the bottle to refill it this year it was needless to say still very sagey smelling. this recipe will also work for pine needles as well as cedars and juniper trees.

Good luck
