Does anyone have info about Unit 44 In Colorado late season deer hunt. It's by Glenwood springs and Eagle. Thanks

Huntin100, how many points did you have when you drew this tag? I had 5 plus this years draw and thought I would get it. Gamekiller

I also have a unit 44 late season tag. Anyone from CO know anything about this unit? No honey holes just a general direction or a name of someone. Thanks

I had 5 points, I have the Oct 30-Nov 5th season. I can give you some info after the hunt if you have Nov 6th-Nov 10th season. I think you needed to have 7 or 8 points to draw the latest hunt. Just trying to see if some areas were better than others. I plan on going for a few days scouting before. The deer may move some depending on weather. Thanks

I've heard it takes over 7 or 8 points to draw an early season (timberline hunt) and late season deer tag there. It must be a good unit judging by the lack of response you're getting????? I'm sure there's alot of folks out there that know it well but are keeping it to themselves........

Best of luck to ya!

According to the DOW website:

Early timberline season: Residents 3 points, nonresidents 4 points

4th season: residents 4 points, nonresidents 8 points.

The 3rd and 4th seasons should be good if the weather cooperates. Good luck.

Thanks for your info. I'm going to do some scouting. By the way I have read some of your post's about SFW. I have been involved running banquets in Logan for 7 years. I is not a perfect group. I don't think there is one. It is one that is getting results and can raise alot of money in the next 10 years. We are loosing winter range fast. We need alot of money in the next 10-15 years. Preditor control, no wolves to make things worse and a group that will protect sportsmen access and rights. Thanks Greg
