Oregon elk

They're in the rut, a couple nights ago I was baling hay and a couple raghorns were fighting and tearing windrows up right in front of me. I can't say I've heard a lot of bugling though.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-07 AT 11:19AM (MST)[p]Thanks!

What part of the state was that?

North of Prineville. the bow hunters around town say they're getting some response but the hunter pressure has the bulls pretty careful and most of the action is at night, nothing new there though.

got cold last sat and they were rippin it up, sun had a few raindrops and warmer with limited bugling. They are starting to go good again since yesterday.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-07 AT 12:12PM (MST)[p]I agree. There are so many people up there bugling that those elk hardly ever talk. They have been bugled at for a month now. I'm actually going up Northeast of Prineville so it's good to know they are talking a bit.

yes in utah they are! in some places they are bugling good and rutting pretty hard!

big buck243,

do you know any extended archery elk units that might just hold a cow or a decent bull i could take a wack at? (nothing is better than a good elk stake)
