Have son 15 and daughter 17 who both drew tags for Nov hunt.Their uncle vounteered to assist as I have chronic kidney failure. Have some info AZGFD info on the unit, will be taking plenty of gas and spare tires, any specific info would be appreciated. Have all USGS maps and BLM maps also uniot 13b map.I'm very interesed in helping them , my brain still works well but am pretty much limited as a couch potato coach. Any Personal info will be appreciated. Also have read every issue of Mule Crazy, all Ryan Hatch's tapes and all Trophy magazines not to mention several books on mule deer. However am still limited to being an arm chair quarterback. Any Personal experience or info will be appreciated.

I had the tag a few years ago. I harvested a 191" mule deer. Email me and I can point you in a general direction.

You must know already that the strip isnt a real easy hunt. If you arent real mobile and the kids are a bit younger, maybe think about hiring a guide. Its pretty rough and its a huge area that for someone who hasnt scouted, it may be a real tough hunt. Not raining on your parade, just shooting straight. There are quite a few real top notch guides who work the strip, just holler at Ryan and he can lead you to the right one....... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

The "ABOVE" post has offered some GREAT advice.Huge Unit,Deer herds are "Scattered",to say the least.Been there many times, can be a demanding, rough hunt, especially if WEATHER comes.Be prepared,NO SERVICES avaiably once You leave Bloomington,Utah.I-15,Exit 4.Alot of hunters are amazed, when they find out, they must travel,80 miles of "DIRT ROAD",if traveling to the "SOUTH"---Good Luck.

I sent a message to a guy I know that grew up down in Fredonia and knows the strip really well, his brother in law guides down there and kills monsters every year 200"+. Hope it works out. Where do you live now?
