WE MUST UNITE!!!

Lets start a petition to force the Utah Game and Fish to allow equal opportunity to draw these tags. Nonresidents should be given equal opportunity to hunt trophy elk in Utah!

If you want it, then move to Utah. NR must draw just like residents! If you really want a tag, then buy it, just like some of these NR, it only costs you $50,000.

In my Opinion there should always be more Resident tags than NR. It is just the way it is!!!!!!!!!!!! It will never be equal numbers.

The cost of the tag may differ, but the opportunity to draw needs to be made the same. No tag in this world is worth living in Utah for!!!!

Let us not contradict the thread title. The unification needs to be all hunters, NR - resident- archers-etc, etc.

Headline: NonResident hunters take on the State of Utah, bleeding heart liberals win hunting ban in certain areas.

ya like it so easy and fair for utahns to draw other states!

look at the odds in some units, NR have BETTER odds than residents!

want to talk fair. the unit i put in for in WY is OER THE COUNTER FOR THEM!

utah is non res friendly.. to friendly if ya ask me!

there should be only one non resident tag a year for each species. the cost and value of that tag would sky rocket. then we could use that money and compensate for taking away all the other piddly non res tags! haha

beat this

IF WE DIDN'T HAVE BIG STINKY'S YOU WOULDN'T BE WHINING!!!

I WANT A 35"+ BUCK TOO!!!

BUT I'M NOT GONNA STIRR IT WITH NEVADA,MEXICO OR COLORADO OR IDAHO!!!

I'LL KEEP LOOKING AT PISSCUTTER BUCKS & BIG STINKY BULLS RIGHT HERE IN TARDVILLE!!!

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

Well put bobcatbess! There should be ONE NR TAG PERIOD!!!!!! Pretty sad that by the time most of us draw an elk or deer tag, were to damn old to get off the wheeler. If you want an NR tag, wait like the rest of us rednecks have to.

BY the way shootplane,
I'm a Ut resident with 14 bonus points for elk.
So even us guys with the "unfair advantage" have to wait our turn.
B_F_E HEHEHE LOL TOO FUNNY
How's this--
Non Residents must show proof of mac'n a fat chick to be eligible for bonus point
LOL

This one will get you all. Try and draw a resident Elk tag for Nebraska..... Once in a life time!

I thought you all might get a kick out of that anyway. Thought I might lighten it up a bit.

I agree with fishlakeelkhunter. Why should non-residents have equal opportunity at these tags as residents? That is hog wash! That is just the way it is and just the way it should be. I dont expect equal opportunity when I put in for my out of state tags...but I do it anyway.
So, non-residents of Utah. Get over it! We have scoreboard on every other state period. Last year Utah produced more 400 class bulls than all other western states COMBINED. And this year looks like it is right on track to do it again. I am a Utah resident and I have 2 deer points and 11 elk points. The only tags I have EVER drawn are antlerless and a turkey.
That being said, I still applaud the Utah DWR for the way they are managing the Elk. I would rather keep harvesting spike elk like I did last year and know that someday I will have an opportunity at a monster bull, than have the entire state filled with raghorns and over hunted areas.
Memo to non-residents-either get on your knees and pray for more luck than it would take to win the powerball, or mortgage the farm and buy a primo tag. Either way, enough with this 'we must unite' garbage. If you dont like it, stay away from Utah.
ps stay away from our women too.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-07 AT 09:22AM (MST)[p]I have to agree with the utah guys on this one. But only one NR tag is stupid. If that was the case then every state should do that and no one could be going to other states and enjoying the sport that we all love. You guys keep having pissing matches between each other and we are going to loose all hunting rights....focus you thoughts against something worth fighting about. No wonder we loose hunting rights everyday. Wow, i'm starting to sound like my dad...anyway. This site is starting to sound more and more like a bunch of old women fighting about stupid $h!T.
Just my two cents

PY
OH yeah and i'm from WY and still agree with the "tards"

Try applying for Idaho for 16 years,
with no bonus points given out.
Even if Utah did give equal opportunity,
I would hope you have some points.

I really agree with pymulies on this one too!

It shouldnt be all about "in state, out of state" thing. If we continue to fight among ourselves it just gives the anits more power to fight against us and take it away from all of us!!!! No matter what state you live or hunt in!!!!

We have to realize that the opportunity is NEVER going to be the same for out of staters. I being a TARD from Utah will never have the smae chance in other states as the locals do, so why should you Nons have the same chance here in Utah. NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN! In fact if you want my oppinion then it is going to only get MUCH WORSE with all the FREAKING GIANT ELK being killed here year after year. The money is going to go higher, the Non Res tags harder to get and the Res tags harder to get. No matter what it is a tag of a lifetime.

I am lucky enough to have a Fishlake Muzz tag this year. I have hunted the mtn my whole life and I have NEVER NEVER been more nervous for a hunt in my life. I am leaving tomorrow and I hope to shoot at least a 350 bull. Which I believe is a great bull for this unit with a muzz.

Now that being said, I dont know if I want to post any pictures of it on here cuz of all the "haters" on here that are never happy and even acuse the 400" bulls of being photo shoped!

I think we all need to sit back and just enjoy the great freedoms that we have and the great mtns that we get to spend time in every fall no matter what the harvest is!!!!!!!

WOW, I better get off my soapbox before someone tries to knock me off!!!!

I totally agree with you Fish,
I also used my 12 bp's this year
on a Beaver muzzy hunt, I have
waited all these years to get a
tag, And now it is here, I to have
never felt this much pressure getting
stuff ready for the hunt.

I am leaving saturday. I would love to
harvest a 380 bull, but with the muzzy,
it will be tough, I just hope to see one.

As stated before everybody must wait there
turn if you expect to get a great tag.

Good luck Fish.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-07 AT 01:06PM (MST)[p]can everyone agree that there are big deer and in some cases elk throughout all of utah? can we all agree that it is fairly simple to get an over the counter tag on these animal? archery elk in utah has a very liberal quota. it is so simple to get a tag. you actaully might have to scout like the rest of us do but i think utah has an exceptional NR "policy" i guess you could say. we all put in our time, we all love to hunt.

beat this

The fact of the matter is, we as utahn's have more chances to draw because we pay for them. We pay our taxes, we buy the general season tags, some are "dedicated" hunters. We are the ones who take care of the problems that come up in our R.A.C. meatings. So why would we do all this just to give it away to non-residents. If you want to draw a tag, great! Keep trying like the rest of us. I have been putting in for nine years, never drawn. I have been bow hunting since I was fourteen, I have never killed a buck. I have had umpteen million chances, but I believe that if you kill the medeocur bucks, you will have far less large bucks. I have scouted my guts out, trying to find a big deer (in the cache unit) and in nine years have had one chance at a 27" buck that busted on me at 60 yards. I might hunt for another nine years before I kill my trophy, but I will never quit scouting or hunting because of "failer." Nor will I quit putting in for my trophy and once-in-a-lifetime hunts. Because "He who quits, can never succeed."

Keep putting in, keep trying to find big animals in your home state and success will come to those who try. No matter what it is you are trying for.

I didn't say it , shootplane did , I just laughed my asss off after he said it ...lol

Unite my ASSSSSS....If you want the better opportunity to hunt in Utah--MOVE THERE. I live in Colorado and God I wish the over the counter tags would go away forever and The almight cant do anything right Wildlife Commission would learn something from states like Utah and Arizona. But that will never happen since they cant manage what we have with the abundance of revenue they already generate from every Tom ##### and Harry that comes here and buys an overpriced tag based on the quanity over Quality management method we offer. As a Colorado resident it sure would be nice to not see a hunter around every corner on a damn ATV just because they can roll in here and buy a tag. A little off the subject but like I said if people want the better odds, they really ought to think about moving.

Very well said fishlake, I agree totally. In a post another post in this thread I went off and only wish Colorado had the nads to do for its in state hunters what other states like yours does for you. Good luck on your hunt, hope you get a big one

Fishlakehunter, Are you kidding me? You won't post pics because of all the haters? Have you been reading the post from all these bulls being killed? I have and there are 100s of post and none of them negitive so wtf are you talking about? The only negitive post I saw are about the Mossback bull and thats just a givin.

This NR is just happy that I have an opportunity to apply for a Big Stinkies tag in Utah. I realize that with 7 points at the moment, I may never draw, but its fun to daydream that I will. And Bobcatbess I sure hope that it hasn't been ruined if and when I do, I'm with you on keeping lots of big bulls around for a long time.
No way should non-residents have equal opportunity as tax paying residents. And it is pretty much the same for Utah hunters that want to hunt Wy. Az. or Nv. or where ever, apply and take your chances.

""""""""""""Lets start a petition to force the Utah Game and Fish to allow equal opportunity to draw these tags. Nonresidents should be given equal opportunity to hunt trophy elk in Utah! """"""""""

LMAO!!! Are you for real? Are there any states where a non-resident has an equal opportunity as a resident? This is a joke. I wish I had the same odds in other states as their residents do but it's not gonna happen.

shootplane,

Sounds like you should think before you open the air catcher on your shoulders.

Leave things alone!! I'm now a non-resident to Utah now. I lived in Utah a good part of my life, and I've gained quite a few points for elk in those years, (13 to be honest). In all those years I did not draw a tag!! And there are residents that are in alot worse shape than me, as far as points and the opportunity to hunt limited entry elk!!! There are alot of people that have been trying to draw these tags before the point system ever was established!! Non-residents are NOT being cheated on these tags, they need to realize just how limited these great tags are!!!!!
I live in Craig Colorado now, so I'll take the bad with the good as far as being a non-resident to Utah. I will try my damnest to be successful here in Colorado to shot a bull every year, but I realize my best bull of my life is going to come from Utah, if and when I ever draw!!!

Sending praise to the drawing gods!!! AMEN!!!!

Work to hunt!! Live to hunt!! And the rest spent keeping the wife happy!!
