I can tell you that unless some constraints are put into place to limit the pressure and the scouting congregations that some impose there will not be any 500 bulls on public land. You have to limit the pressure to allow it to happen. trail cams, chute plains 4-10 member scouting parties by guides, bounties, Whore fees, etc, staking out the big boys for 3-4 weeks before the season with individuals following them 24/7 until the hunt begins, running off other hunters etc, will be the demise of what we love. Hell it's not going on for the special tag holders anymore it's going on a much larger scale.
The nonhunting public detests trophy hunting and if we don't regulate ourselves in some fashion they'll gladly step in and do it for us or introduce wildlife to eliminate hunting opportunity.It's not hunting anymore in many instances, in a lot of aspects it's just shooting. The $$$ are infecting some to the point that they are compromising hunting for the almighty $$$$. It's a disease that has begun to run rampant and we need to come up with some guidelines to protect our game and hunting's future in most of the western states. I certainly don't know what the answer is but when the fame, money and the bone are the top priority then we need to step back and rethink our position. When your sitting there disagreeing with me about this realize one thing it won't be you or I or another like us that shoots this mystical bull. It'll be some fat cat that one one of our friends sold out YOUR chance to harvest the animal to in favor of the almighty $$$$. The fat cat gets the fame your buddy got the money, the guide got a lot more money and ultimately you got the shaft!!
