1 in 3,831 - That's not bad odds? I'm afraid to even post this my buddies are ribbing me so hard already. I know we have some mule deer fanatics in WA and we're starting to see more bigger bucks showing up each year. I have a few ideas on where and when to kill a huge muley, but wondered what some of you guys thought.

The tag is good for all of WA, except the PLWMA and closed areas. It runs from September 1st through December 31st and I can use any weapon. Nothing like getting a blank check!

I'm starting to feel like Frotto from Lord of the Rings. I've got this awesome gift (the raffle tag), but also have the weight of the world on my shoulder (if I don't kill a monster muley, my buddies will never let me live it down)! They already won't quit rubbing my belly for good luck!

Thanks for the insight. If you'd rather chat offline, I'm up for that. I have lots of time and plan on doing a lot of scouting/hunting from now to the end of the year.

Wow, Sweet, Congrats.

I think I would be up in Twisp/Winthrop area come about 11/10-11/30. If you have some patience you could find a monster! I bet there are a couple folks that will give you some specifics! I would, but I dont really have any!

Good Luck

You dog, if you want suggestions shoot me a PM with what your expectations are and how hard you want to hunt, I've got several ideas though. What I would give for that tag. You are VERY lucky.

I would give my left nut for that tag!! You lucky Dog! Congrats! I'd say quit your job, and spend this fall/december hunting! JK! Try to locate others in the past who have drawn the tag and talk to them about what areas they hunted/bucks they saw! Send you a PM also.

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

Cant let that tag go 2 waste, you can also hit me with a PM i would be glad to help ya out.

"scouting" What kind of scouting do you need to do when you can hunt from Sept to December. You lucky bugger. Good Luck!

MDC:

Congrads on the tag. You truley are the man! Now put this is your pipe and smoke it. Anything less then a 180 buck, and you'll be flogged be every Wa MM member. lol

lucky dog. I would hunt Chelan county or Okanogan county. That is a lot of area but there are some big bucks out there. Last year during my late elk hunt a seen some real big bucks in Chelan county. But the biggest buck i have ever seen in washington was only a 10 minute drive from main street in Winthrop. He was about 28" wide and a 6X9 with a lot of mass. To bad he was on private propery.

good luck and post pictures at the end of the hunt.

I guess you guys are right, I don't have much of a scouting season. By the time I can get out it'll be hunting season on that tag! Thanks for the feedback.

I drew Nevada's PIW tag a few years ago, but just couldn't get on a monster. Saw a few that in hind sight were probably bigger than I thought and passed up some bigger than the one I got, but that's hunting. I don't have the money or interest in paying somebody $5,000 to drive me around and point out a deer to shoot, so I probably won't do as well as someone who does. On the other hand, I ain't afraid to work at it so we'll see what happens.

Any other ideas, let me know.

Thanks again!

Congratulations!! Man, think about it....you got 4 months to hunt!! You'll do just fine. Jealous, flat jealous.

I think it loses some of it's mystique when you're just following a guide around. Besides, if it didn't go well, I'd be kicking myself for years. I guess I'd rather make it or break it as the hunter, not just the trigger man. A thousand bucks is a good deal though, thanks. Maybe when I get older and the hunt don't mean so much anymore!

Hopefully it never reaches that point! (The getting old part! hehe)
