Current Arizona State Record?

B&C is #1---442&5/8
P&Y is #1---410&1/8
the new AZ typ archery will be around 428+- depending on the dry

Thanks Maddglasser.

I received a call tonight from someone that thinks they may have killed a contender. I will pass along your statement.

Wouldn't that shatter the P&Y WR as well???

Didn't the Shawn Patterson's bull score 412 1/8" net? That's the p&y typ record. Franklin's score looks right at 442 5/8". I think the 434 or 428 whatever that bull grossed, will net quite a bit lower but still compete with Patterson's. Does anybody know what that 434 typ bull will likely net??

If you are talking about net from gross then it depends on how many deducitons the bull has. The bull will also have to wait for the 60 day drying period before he can be officially scored. That could deduct a few inches too. There a lot of variables so... If you take it to a Boone and Crockett official scorer they can give you a score. If you need a name PM me and I can send you in the right direction.

The 442 5/8 bull I was refering to is the winters bull that is #1 all-time B&C and AZ #1
The Franklin bull is also the world record non typ archery and AZ #1 as well. I think that bull scored somewhere around 440 net but I am not sure.

Please forgive me on the typo on the 412 bull I forgot the 2, my bad. It will be VERY interresting to see what the new bull, 435, is going to net. But is going to shatter the existing record for sure.

Tell your um-----um-----um-----wow! let us know what he scores

If you're referring to the Verde River 434/428 or whatever it grosses, then I don't think the net score will come close to the Patterson bull. Remember Pattersons' grossed green over 430 as a damn near perfect 7x7 very minimal looking deducts and ended up 412. Or is there another 430 type bull from AZ this yr also?

I guess we can all speculate for now. But in about 50 days we will know for sure.

OK the Patterson bull grosses 432&2/8 and nets 414&0/8. So we will just have to see

Actually if any of the bulls mentioned in this thread, score higher than 412 net; it'll take a lot longer than 50 days to determine their status as a State or WR archery typical. I'm not exactly sure of the next P&Y panel date. I don't think it'll be until Spring 2009.
(Pattersons bull netted 414 after the 60 day drying period. 412 1/8 at the panel this past Spring)

Thank you for clearing that up. Nonetheless if this guy knows of another contender I guess that is going to continue the arguement of AZ vs UT. I appreciate you catching that AZ402.

UT is king of the B&C as of late (all the rifle rut hunts they have). AZ and MT usually have the most P&Y bulls entered every year......

It'll be interesting to see what kind of bulls are entered at the next panel and where they are from. We took one this past weekend that will net close to 390 typical P&Y. Thats not even a top ten bull these days. IMO, we are in the golden age of elk hunting right now......
