I have drawn a Bull/Buck Combo tag for the Northern Region that starts next Saturday, but we're not really sure where a good place to go hunt would be. We're thinking of going up in the Uintah's.

Can any of you that are done with your Elk hunt for the year give me any direction on where to go in the uintah's or anywhere else in northern utah to get in to some elk. We have horses and want to get a ways in away from the crowds.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My advise would be forget the elk and go for deer. I personally would hunt where there are no elk or elk hunters. That is just me. After you kill a good buck then hit the mtns for elk.

if you hunt the uintahs, you can only hunt elk. the deer tag is restricted to the northern unit (you can only hunt deer on an any bull area). if you want to hunt both, stay northern and wack a monster!

You can hunt the north slope. You better go get a proc. so you don't have to rely on our different opinions. Get the facts! China Meadows, Christmas Meadows might be places to look.

Actually, we can hunt deer in the Uintah's we just have to stay north of the Mirror Lake Highway until we get up by Hayden Peak and then we can cross over the highway.

Thanks for the suggestion to China or Christmas Meadows.

Any other recommendations?

Where would you recommend we hunt outside of the Uintah's?

Thanks.
