lightning

Some of you may have read my story about my successful hunt but I have a question about thunder storms.
While scouting just prior to season(4th trip scouting) and during the first 4 days of season the weather was basically the same. There was some bugling early/late in the day, as expected for around the 2nd week of september but for 2 days in that span, after a thunder storm went over, the bulls would light it up with bugles, no matter the time of day. They would go non stop all day and no they weren't hunters cause we could see them. Temperature didn't drop no other changes other than the storm passing by. Do any of you know if these storms get the bulls more vocal for the day or have the same experiences?

Thanks

I have seen it work several ways. Just as you have stated, or some calling, or just shut up until the next morning!

I saw the same thing happen on my LE hunt this year. However, the storm did drop the temperature and rain a little.

One really cool experience I had was spending part of a night in my truck because of the intensity of a storm and proximity of lightning. The storm was incredible, but at every interval in the storm when it would quiet down, the bulls would go crazy on all sides of me. It was pure primal energy...man, I love September in the mountains...

you were looking at peta people dressed up like elk. your mistake!
