Well this years Rifle Trophy elk hunt was a success!!! With the elk not talking to much, and the weather medi-oker, we had an opportunity to take a 435 bull non typical 6x7! Needless to say, my ol man danced around like a litlle kid when he walked up to this monster. Just a couple of do it yourself hunters too! The country we were hunting in was so thick, it made the shot 20 yards away with a 300 WSM. a few weeks after the hunt, we took it to brent farnsworth who is wildlife officer as well as a B&C official scorer. He named the bull 435 gross, 425 net non typical. I just wish i had the picture taking skills that some of these guides have. LOL i lacked in that area big time, so the bull dont look as good as he does in real life. My Bad!! Heck of a fun hunt!!!!

Congrats Darrell on a great bull....
I know you have some better photos...May as well post a few now the cat is out of the bag...

LAST EDITED ON Oct-04-07 AT 03:17PM (MST)[p]Huge bull but 435? Looks more like 360 from that angle. We need more pics on that beautiful bull. Huge congrats! Details please.

I gotta think with that extra browtine over 10 inches, there's more than 10 inches in deductions... anyway, nets are for fish, as they say. Forget what it scores... It is a stud and I'd be proud.

Tell us the story... when, how many days did you hunt?

Horses and ATVs? Where was your hunt? LE somewhere?

Congrats!!! it is a smoker!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-04-07 AT 03:49PM (MST)[p]WOW, that thing is a giant....... Before the "score is wrong" posts start coming... the score is right (or very close prior to drying)... Just a GIANT bull!

Congrats. That thing is a monster. 20 yard shot sounds awesome. What unit and give us more story. Thanks for posting.

Awesome bull, has it all, mass all the way through, length, width, need I say any more, great bull. So many big bulls being posted this year, boy did I pick a bad year to have another kid and start a new job................

Great job.

WOW,incredible bull! Please share more about the hunt, and more pictures if you have them.

As for questioning the score, I'll repeat what I've said before, most guys don't know what a true 360 bull looks like, let alone a 400+ bull. That thing is a monster, and I'll be damned if I'm going to doubt the score.

Great bull. Kind of looks like Chuck Adam's 400 bull from a few years back. Gotta be careful loading the horns on a horse that way. You can jab him in the rear and then the rodeo begins. thanks for sharing

OH SNAP!!! Please tell us what unit that was killed in so we can put in for it and not it draw it hehe.... Totally awesome that two average Joe's can kill Bulls like that for nothing more than the cost of the tag, UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

Slammer bull! Double check that net though with that extra 2nd being at least 18"s. But I too think net is just for fish.

Thats a great bull! I wouldn't have thought it was that big by the pictures if i didn't read it on kings. wow

After reading Kings report all you scoring experts and naysayers need some more practice. The Mossback bull and this one look totally different yet score very similar.

Looks like you had a great adventure! Thanks for sharing your bull. It will be fun to see and hear more of your story.

My bad on the extra 2nd pt deduct comment...I'm thinking typical. That thing has some kind of beam length and width!

Well the Drying period is up. We will post the official score in a few days!!

Let us know! He is a big old bull regardless of the numbers. It is nice to stick your name in the book though.:)

The mass on the end of the right side is crazy!!

I am guessing Utah or AZ.
Any better link to kings? I cant even find it in the archives.
Thanks for sharing and congrats.

Jeff

What a cool story! It's nice to see the average Joe take a HUGE bull every once in a while. What a PIG!!
