Here my 07 Colorado Bull. I figured that the score needed to be handicapped to compare with all of the big bulls taken in Utah this year!

365 3/8 B&C gross
+ 25 Colorado
+ 25 DIY
+ 10 Public land
+ 10 muzzloader
-------
435 3/8 adjusted!!!!!!!!

He is by far the largest bull I have had any oppritunity to take in all my years of hunting. I will have a hard time ever doing any better unless I draw some premium tag.

I was able to harvest him on the second day of the season after turning down a few other bulls including a 330 bull that left me wondering about afterwards.

I scouted the area I drew a tag for every weekend for 5 weeks prior to the season. I had to hike into the area 1.5 hour before daylight to get where I needed to be. I ended up hiking about 10 miles a day round trip. I defiantly put the work to get it done and fortunatly it worked out.

While packing the bull out, the horse packing my elk wrecked. The horse toppled end over end about 8 times and 200 ft down a hill. Needless to say I thought my horns were now done and even worse we thought the horse was dead or seriouly injured. After running down to the horse I seen that that the antlers had survived. The horse must have knocked himself out but then woke up and jumped to his feet. We checked him out and found that there were no broken legs and a punture wound from an antler was the worst of it. The horse was my buddys wifes and I didnt know how we were going to explain killing it. I carried the horns out of the canyon and then the horse packed everything out 8 miles back to camp.

I couldnt be more excited about the bull and will always remember the experience of working hard to find success.

Very Sweet!!! Having hunted elk with archery tackle in Colorado for the past several years, I know that a 365 class bull in that state is a real trophy, regardless of the weapon..... Congratulations!!!

Justin,

You get my vote for the best post ever award. I'm still laughing at the handicap. That is too funny and true. 365 in Co. is like a 435 bull in Ut. Great story. Nothing like a horse wreck to make you pucker for a few seconds. Glad it all turned out ok.

Awesome bull! Love your adjustment measurement. LOL That is a beautiful rack. Love those 4th's and the way he lays out. That'll be a beautiful mount.

Great job and CONGRATS!!

Great job!!! But the score you posted is WRONG. Adding 10 inches, wtf?

Using A Horse -10 :)

Congrats man!

Awesome Colorado Bull!! Gives me hope for a big Bull on my upcoming hunt. And I really like your math, have to remember that if I am lucky enough to take a Bull. Thanks for the story & pics!

I'd say ad another 100 points for hunting without a posse.
That's gotta count for something.

Well done Justin! I saw the bull at Barrett's and it definately has the wow factor. From what I heard you did it right and earned him.

I don't care where you killed it, thats a hell of a Bull!!!

Nice bull and a great story. Too bad the horse took a fall. Congratulations on a fine bull!!!

I would have subtracted 10 inches if I had hunted off horseback but everything was off foot until the bull was down.

I guess it could be a 5 inch deduction for using a horse to get it out but Im not willing to accept that since the horse tried to destroy my horns!

My camera didnt work after I killed him so I dont have any real field photos. Everything was took by my friend when he came in to help me get him out.

these are a couple other pics I have digitally but they dont show much more.

Congratulations on an awesome bull, done right!

I like your handicapping formula, I'll have to try that myself next time I draw a tag. I saw the thread title and thought WTF?, but then read your text and got a great laugh out of your humor. Way to go!

That is one heck of a bull, especially for Colorado. Did he come from a wilderness area in a LE unit? Congrads on one the best bulls I have seen from Colorful Colorado.

I didn't see any addition for doing your own scouting preseason, that gotta be worth another +10!
Love the adjusted score!

Congrats on a great bull.

Nice Job. I have been there. My 350 Archery bull was "earned" the same way only no horses just good pals to pack it out. Almost killed us all!!!

Thanks for the additional 2 pics, the last one really helped me see what a great bull you took, congrats again!!

Come on man that score is way out of line . YOu forgot the +15 or the horse wreck =450 and that puts him in the top 10 Im LMAO . way to go great bull

It was one of CO limited units but not one of the Northwest units like some might guess. I dont want to say which one so I can try to draw it again.
Thanks for the compliments.

I saw your pic in a local store. I have a good idea about what unit you hunted. I have been applying for the same. I have done quite a bit of scouting and horn hunting in the unit. I have talked to a couple guys that said they didn't see quite the bulls they were looking for this year.
