can they smell me?

can mule deer smell my breath? i never know what to do when im hunting. i brush my teeth but then i have that nice minty smell that im sure they pick up, but if i dont, my breath smells bad anyway. what do you think? goofy post i know, but ive always wondered what do you do about the breath situation??

Good Question... Personally I have been working on not breathing!!!

I have no idea but not sure if I have ever been that close to a deer for them to smell my breath before they smell somthing else on me

No problem just gargle with doe in heat.

hullin, thats my question, if i do everything right and make my clothes and my body as scent free as i can, i dont want to be winded every time i exhale, i imagine that a deer can smell my breath a long ways away? oh well, i just have to go with the doe in heat idea!!!

Try using a little baking soda but be gentle cause it is abrasive you also might want to , depending where you are hunting grab a small handfull of whatever leaves or something , be carefull of what and chew it for awhile, I have done this with sagebrush and pine needles , kinda nasty , and I do spit it out .

Just bend over and chew on the tarsel gland you have tied to your boots to kill your scent that should work...LOL. Just keep the wind right and you won't have to worry about your breath!!!

Try the doe in heat or if you hunt around cattle just roll in some fresh cow pies. You could chew on the dry one's it might taste better than sage? Good Question?

maybe ill just not do anything, usually when i wake up my ol lady tells me my breath smells like ive been chewing cow pies all night anyway!

Actually, you could take some fresh herbs along with you. Rosemary doesn't taste as strong as sage and not as "unatural" in the field as fresh mint. You could chew on Rosemary after you brush I guess. Then get ready for some lovin'!

I do the same thing. I try and grab a little sage brush or pine needles and put them in my mouth for a little while. Chew'em just enough to release the pine/sage aroma and then spit it out. Lasts for a good little while.
