424 CO Bull

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but I wont complain at all to see some pictures!

Jeff

No way!! Colorado is still trying to produce a 400 bull!! 424 is like a 50" mule deer for colorado.

I saw the pics of the bull. I don't think it was a guided hunt, just on private. I heard the bull had 60 inch main beams and a 50 inch spread and was an 8x8. Nice bull.

Well, Middlehoof there has been some 400 class free range bulls taken in CO the last few yrs, and the former, yet very long standing world record typical was from CO. 440+. A much more impressive looking elk than the current #1 IMO. Just too many elk in CO anymore to try to manage for age class.

Last spring some friends picked up a 390 set of sheds in a unit that only takes a point or 2 to draw.
It would be rare to have a 400" bull in CO but it wouldnt suprise me that someday it will happen again........
The nw units of CO have come close of the years..
Jeff

I dont know the kid but I did see a pic of the bull on a camera phone. The bull is HUGE and I heard it was shot in Colorado but right next to the Utah border! Those elk dont care about boundary lines and big bull cross near the Colorado/Utah border all the time!

Congrats to the young hunter on a bull of a lifetime!!

I herd he didnt have promision to hunt privet land. And his entire senior class chased it from Utah into Colorado where he shot it with a Colorado voucher he bought with his entire summer wages. I was hunting this bull until I was surrounded by the captains of the football team and the prom queen. They said it was thier bull and threatend me with corndog sticks from thier lunch sacks. They gave my buddy who was helping me a swirly in a campground toilet so me and my buddy "blue top" left and they killed it sortly after. Now he won't post pics because he is going to sell pics and story to Trophy hunter Mag and get his summer wages back and buy a 1997 Ford Ranger with a 6 inch lift and 18" wheels.
What is hunting turning into.

Jeff would that friend be a tall guy about 6'5" with a goofy sense of humor who now resides in AK? If so, I held those sheds and they are whoppers for sure...

.........I'm a chicken hawk and you're a chicken........and I'm gonna eat you.............

JB

Foghorn Leghorn: Lookit here son, I say son, did ya see that hawk after those hens? He scared 'em! That Rhode Island Red turned white. Then blue. Rhode Island. Red, white, and blue. That's a joke, son. A flag waver. You're built too low. The fast ones go over your head. Ya got a hole in your glove. I keep pitchin' 'em and you keep missin' 'em. Ya gotta keep your eye on the ball. Eye. Ball. I almost had a gag, son. Joke, that is.

Henery Hawk: Ah, I ain't so little.
Grandpa Hawk: I've told you Henery, why you're too little to hunt chickens with me.
Henery Hawk: You mean on account of what you was telling me that chickens are great, big monsters?
Grandpa Hawk: Yep.
Henery Hawk: They got big, sharp teeth and they live in caves?
Grandpa Hawk: That's right.
Henery Hawk: And they fight like demons?
Grandpa Hawk: Right.
Henery Hawk: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go get some.
________________________________________
Grandpa Hawk: You'll probably hate me for what I'm gonna do, but after all, I am a chicken hawk.
________________________________________
[after Foghorn beats up on Grandpa Hawk]
Henery Hawk: Hey, was that a chicken, Pop?
Grandpa Hawk: A chicken? Of course not. Do you think I'd let a chicken do that to me? That's just a loud-mouthed schook.
Henery Hawk: A schnook? Well, I'm not after schnooks, I'm after a chicken.
________________________________________
Foghorn Leghorn: Looky here, son, I'm no loud-mouthed schnook.
[Hits dog as he talks]
Foghorn Leghorn: This is a dog, not a chicken. Chicken's don't look like dogs. Who told you this was a chicken, son? Nice boy, but doesn't listen to a thing you say. You got a bum steer, son. I'm a chicken, not a schnook. You're wrong, son.
Barnyard Dawg: [Kicks Foghorn] Schnook!
Henery Hawk: Schnook.
________________________________________
Henery Hawk: Hey, he called you a chicken.
Foghorn Leghorn: That's what I've been - I say, that's what I've been telling you, boy! I am a chicken!
[Henery hits Foghorn on the head with a shovel and drags him away]
Henery Hawk: He talked me into it.

Looks like we have a strike out on the promission thing!!

From the looks of the village in the background, I'd say somewhere around Juarez, Mexico. Just kidding.

I'd say Tejon Ranch (Not a high fence) in California on about the 25th of September at about 8:15 AM by a guy from Utah, with a camera guy, and a guy named Bron, Field scored by a guy named Don, Photographed in the field by a guy named Ron, Gutted by a guy named Darryl, Loaded in the truck by a guy named Steven.

Officially scores..............Gross.

Just a guess.

No one is gonna believe you D13er.

Me Too JB
I went to a Foghorn Leghorn website to get that material.
Took me a while to get off of it I was laughing so hard. Then I got all emotional, wishing I was........ oh say.... about ......
fortyish years younger. I got over that pretty quick though!! The emotion part that is. I say, I say stand up straight when I'm a talkin to ya sun!! LOL

Now for some "serious" Guessin! Moving North and West.
I'll say 383 and change Gross on that Bull.
Nevada.

Well how did I do???

COarcher. We really would like to see a pic of that Bull.
You can't take this stuff personal ya know. Some of us don't get out much. (I'm speakin for myself here). It sure is nice to see when other folks are successful!!
FhLh

FOGHORN,
Read post #49 and my guess that those names listed are either F&G or CalTrans personal...........LOL
Also I am an "old" fan of the Foghorn cartoons along with Yosemite Sam, two very old classics. LOL
Brian

I don't know exactly who ralf is but being that he spelled "Darryl" right he wins the imaginary prize....and proves that he is a deep insider.lol.

Brian's guess of f&g and caltrans are way off too.

JB

What did I win?

I'd like to thank my wife, my mom and dad and all of the little people, without them this would have never happened............Oh, and I forgot the fans, you guys rock!

No more score guesses? I noticed the house in the background looks like one of the houses on the north end where Bron lives. Is that where the picture was taken? I have some photos of it I'll post later.

Well... Congratulations to Ralf8!!! heh heh...

You gonna tell him what he really "won" there JB??

Kilowatt, Thanks go out to you for not letting me be the only one with the WRONG guesses LOL!!

Gotta Love the old Looney Tunes!!
I didn't just tell on myself. Did I??

Sounds like we're gettin closer to seeing another Awesome Bull!

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-07 AT 09:45AM (MST)[p]>392 gross

That's the net there D13er. It 'officially' grossed 400 inches even and the Net non typical was just over 392.

The kicker is, that's not even the bull we were going after, he just happened to be in between us and the one we had glassed up and were stalking in on.

Got any pictures of that one? I know the guy that was there with us (Can't remember his name.) took him a week or so later. I think it grossed around 385.
