My friend Jay shot this bull on public land (National Forest) DIY hunt last Saturday morning in SW Colorado. The bull was shot at 11,300 ft @ 400 yards with a 30-378 weatherby.

He told me that I could post the pics but I couldnt tell anyone where his honey hole is!! LOL But I can tell you that this is a OTC unit during the general rifle seasons. He shot it during Colorado 1st rifle season which is by drawing only.

What do you guys think it scores??

Great looking 7x7!! Hell of a Bull for a general unit....With his first 3 being so short I would guess 320-330ish.

Ya, I pretty much agree with 257tony...he's really short down low but has alot going on up top. Some bulls are like that as I have many sheds that top to bottom are a mis-match.

Nonetheless, a great bull and I would be proud to have it. Congrats to the shooter on the bull and a great shot...:)

He scores WELL over my minimum!!!

And next year I am supposed to hunt with Jay for a monster muley! After seeing the photos he took of some real hogs, I can't wait!!!

venor, ergo sum (I hunt, therefore I am)

Five photos and the dude is 0 for 5 on smiling. Kill a bull like that and you should have a s%!* eatin grin all over your face. Good job on a great bull.

What a sweet bull. I love inline 7x7's. I would say he's all of 360 with the mass and beam. That back end is huge.

Maybe Colorado is making a comeback!!
He he, not likely but great bull!!
340's

Call me stupid or maybe my eyes are bigger than my stomach, but that looks like a real good bull. All the scores look like what I'd call him IF he were a 6x6. That guy has some REAL good sixths, and the main beam looks to be close to 50. I can't make him come out anything under 370. I guess 374. There, I said it. Now tear me apart!!!

I agree with you guys that he is an awesome bull. Unfortunately mass does not help the score a whole heck of a lot. He lacks to much on his first 3. I shot an 11 year old 6x6 bull last year in the Book Cliffs with tons of mass but fairly short tines. We taped him out at the 320-330 class. I would guess this bull is not much more than that. Great bull though for public land do it yourself.

Looks to be about a 355 class bull. Congradulations on one beautiful bull. The back end is one of the prettiest I've ever seen.

Its my Dads bull and its the biggest bull he has ever seen i think he's still in shock they ruff scored the bull at 401 he will net 395 not official yet he will get scored next week. Me and my dad had a great time its one of those times we will never forget. Its cool my dad was able to take me i wont ever forget it!!!!!!

Awesome bull, but not to take anything away from your dad, I cant see that bull scoring 400. Maybe the picture isnt doing its justice but it looks like a 330 to 350 bull to me. I would love to hear the final score, keep us posted. If this bull is truly a 400 class bull, give us your measurments. None the less its an awesome bull, 400 class or not, i would have shot it. Congrats!!!

Spectacular bull for Colorado. Congrats to the hunter on a great trophy.

I just wish there were 9 "posse" members in there for the hero shot.

Tell your buddy Jay that he has got him a real nice bull no matter what the score end's up being.
I wouldn't count on the mass to give it much of an advantage to the score and the 1 through the 3's don't help but I would put him close to around 335. Like another member said, let us know where he officially scores, would like to see how close everyone's guesses are.
Congrats to a great bull!

I could see him possibly making 360 tops with an inch or 2 here and there, but if he's 400 then I'm 9 ft tall & bullet proof.

Love your post dakota89, and it's an awsome bull! I hope to share a hunt like that with my son some day. Congrats to you and your dad!

ok the official scores are in and the bull grosses 383 and netted mid to high 370's all in all this was an awsome hunt to share with my dad the reason that the first score was so high was that the "scorer" measured the wrong spots.

Like it was said he's a great bull, I would shoot in a heart beat, your dad has a great looking bull for the wall.

I was going to say 370 atleast...but those guys saying 320 and 330 made me second guess myself! I still can't beleave I said 360+..Next one I won't look at everyones post.

Great Bull!

Great bull, how long are the main beams and what are the mass scores. Inside spread of 35?? I have him at 338.
