Predator calls and muleys

I have never done this personally but I watched it done about a hour ago on a show on the Outdoor Channel called Todays Bowhunter. They were hunting bear in AZ and they were calling. I watched them call in a doe to about 10 yards. No bucks but you never know during the rut what would happen. Good luck.

I've seen it, I was hunting coyotes and after I blew the call a muley buck came looking for what was making the racket. He came a bout 20 yards from me and then just wandered off. I tried it on some does once and they came in the same way. I haven't ever tried it while hunting deer but who knows maybe it would work.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-17-04 AT 12:15PM (MST)[p]I have the original fawn in distress calls that where designed and sold by a fella out of Montana years ago. He made a film with old man Eastman (I have forgotten his first name). The call is really designed to be used most effectivly during the rut. He felt if you could get the does to come to the call the bucks would follow!!. He did successfully call in some very big bucks.

I have used Preditor calls and it seems to me that if deer are withing a couple hundred yards they will come and investigate. They never come to close, only close enough to take a look and then leave.
I also blew a call on some deer I spooked, they all turned around and looked just for a few seconds and then took off.
Good luck, give it try and let us know what you observe.

After glassing a large open area.
After deciding there is nothing you are going to spot.
Before you leave pull out your predator call and blow it for a few minutes.
Any deer in the area will normally stand up to take a look.
Don't know if it works on the mega bucks but have seen a lot of deer I normally would not have seen doing this.

i have had 50 or more does come in one setting in the spring
i had three nice bucks come in last june to a k-9 tape i think it was just there curiosity they did come to 20 yards
