Leupold Golden Ring 12-40x60?

I have one of the older ones and it's compact----every year I look at other models thinking I should replace it, but I never have yet and that's been at least 10yrs--works good--the only real complaint is the focusing and power adjustment when I first got it, but once you get used to it it's a non issue--but the new 15 x 30 x 50 at a lb less in weight looks good also--- good luck---chris

I bought the 12-40x60 this year and I really like it. For the money I think its the best one out there. The focus ring is a little tight compared to some of the others but that's the only knock I'd make against it. I'd buy it again tomorrow if I had to buy a new spotter.

I bought one three years ago, I love that you can fit it in a small pack, make sure to get a good tripod. I paid $450 brand new, I thought that was a little much until I seen the prices this year. Great spoting scope.

I've had mine for quite a few years. Not many scopes take more year around abuse. It has held up well and is still good optically. Not as good a the top-of-the-line models in the periphery, but just as good in the center of the field of view. I'd recommend it very highly.
