My oldest son Travis had a youth tag for a raghorn bull. We got up to our area late friday, just in time to look around a bit and locate if possible any animals before dark. We found a few small herds and then set up camp in the dark. First thing saturday morning we glassed up a big bull with some cows about 1 mile away so off we went to get closer and hope to find a smaller bull with them. After getting re-set, we saw the big bull and right close to him was this bull. We couldnt get any closer without spooking them so Travis steadied himself across a rock/his backpack and took the shot. His first shot was right on track and this bull was down. Both Travis and I were pumped and the adrenaline was flying. Travis had the shakes and I was just all smiles. Thanks for posting littlefoot............. Allen Taylor......

Damn Bura!
Where the heck have you been?
I miss you as a regular here.
Funny to see Littlefoot posting up your photo.
He is one of my favorite guys here as well.
It is such a great feeling watching your kid glow with pride as they mature as sportsmen.
You are doing your kid right.
I worship the days spent in the mountains and on the rivers with my 14 year old son.
Great work there my friend.
Great work there as well kiddo.
Great to see you back around Bura.
Stop by more often!
You are welcome in my camp anytime.

Thanks for sharing in this with me everyone. I cant even explain how great it is to take your son out. This is Travis' 2nd elk (first bull) and his 3rd big game animal. I am having more fun with him than I could ever imagine. He was all smiles and shaking like a leaf after the bull was down. You just cant buy these type of memories......... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

That's great to see. Trav and his first bull. He's going to be putting down more game than his old man! lol
Thanks for sharing Allen. Travis is becoming a terrific young man and hunter. I hear the kid is a bad ass on the football field too!!!

Allen:

Haven't seen you guys in, what, forever??? Man, has your son grown! Travis, way to go on a quick, clean kill; your first bull --- awesome! Just make sure your dad continues to pull his weight when it comes time to load it all up for the trip home(hah!)...
