Well, we were down with the horses at the local arena's in Wenatchee tonight, and I get back to the trailer, and my sister tells me that my friend Kirk, called me, and wants me to give him a call. So I think to myself; "Hey, he went hunting this weekend, I bet he got something!" So, I called his house, but he wasn't home. He was up at his uncle's house who lives right above my house. So I tell my dad that we need to get home before he leaves his uncles and takes his deer with him. So we get home, and I go up there, and it turns out that my friend, shot a doe, but his dad shot a buck. It's a great archery deer, and especially for public, pressured property. He wasn't the biggest they saw, but one of the better deer he's taken with a bow. It's a 2x3 with 1 eyeguard, and about 1/2" eyeguard on the other side. I'll let you be the judge. It's been kind of slow around here lately, so I thought I'd snap a couple pics, and post em. BTW: They've hunted this area for 8 years, and every year have a ton of close calls, and see some great big deer. But they've never gotten anything there. Then, in 1 day, they get 2 deer.

Tell em' good job Michael, that's a nice buck. I know how hard it can be to take a decent buck out of that area this time of year.

I always like those back of the truck shots....got garbage in there, legs laying everywhere, gear, blood, makes it look natural.

Congratulations! How exciting! Like you always say......right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy!

Yeah, it's a great deer. I was pretty excited for him. Every time they leave for the weekend, I'm always expecting a call on sunday as to if they got anything. It's right around 26" wide, and has you can see has get good mass, and is a good buck. I'd shoot him!

Well, just talked to my buddy, and I got the deer's age. Anybody want to take a stab at it?

Looks like your typical 3 year old Eastern Washington 3x2. We see about a dozen of them in the back of trucks in town each opening day. Of course those are taken with rifles not archery though. Good job young man................rf

Well, he's 4 1/2 years old. It's a good thing they got him. They always see huge 2 pts where they hunt, and they need to have a 2 pt. or better season to get rid of all those bad genes. They have some great 4 pts in the area, but really need to get rid of the 2 point genes there.
