San Jaun Late Season

Anyone know how good or bad the late season hunt in November is for the San Juan unit? Where are the elk in that unit in November? I know the early hunt is good with the elk talking and such, but how are guys doing with the late season hunt?

after spending alot of time there on the archery hunt i would say that if there isnt alot of snow the hunting should be very good, but if they get alot of snow it could be much harder because they are in the junipers.

I have heard that it is difficult to find one that is not broken during the late hunt. That being said, there were some monsters left over after the early season. Good luck.

i had the managment tag and i got a really nice 5x5. i shot it on the elk ridge part of the unit which i think could be good late season. i never thought i would have problems with the elk being to big!
