Just wondered how anyone did for the opening day of the controlled bull hunt and the controlled cow hunt.(Idaho controlled hunt units 60/60A). Were they still up pretty high yet? are there any elk down low on the desert? numbers of elk etc.
Thanks,
Brian

I came up empty. We have a late cow tag, and a buck tag in the family and I hold a bull tag. Lots of wolf tracks on Bishop Mtn., did see a few elk tracks around bear wallow and a few out on the "upper" desert. Nothing a little snow wouldn't cure.

Hey Jared,
Wow you guys did really good drawing tags this year.(Nice to be on the recieving end once in awhile) My friend drew a bull tag and I also drew a late cow tag. Thanks for the response. Dang wolves to bad we can't get rid of them! I'm hoping for some snow also. Sounds like maybe some next weekend. Keep our fingers crossed. Have you guys harvested elk before on this hunt? I have only drawn one other time on this hunt a cow tag in 1999 a real crappy year it was like summertime weather. That is some nice looking country up on the top of the pass. Hopefully you can get a big buck. I will let you know if I run onto a good buck. Always nice to help someone out. Let me know how you do and if you are seeing any elk. Hopefully some snow will get them down before to long.

Take care,
Brian
