I just recieved this. I do not know a thing except for what was sent to me. Fun to dream about anyway!

Here is the info-

Dr. Denny?s (Dad?s) ?typical? mule deer he shot couple weeks ago in Utah using a rifle that he designed himself:

38 inches wide, 225 "+ change" for all points, 213-215 ?net? points
The measurements were done by owner of Trophy Magazine, who was in the hunting party, and is on Boone and Crockett committee, so should be pretty accurate measurement. Official measurement is about 60 days after dries.
The UT state record for "Typical" is 212-213, so this might break it and might be 4th or 5th nationally for "Typical"
Picture similar to this one will be on cover of Trophy Magazine

Wow,
Nice Utah buck! And if that neck shot is his first, he is a heck-of-a-shot.

I know it is asking a lot, but can you tell us a little about the hunt? Nice deer. KattSkatt

Thanks for the post, awesome buck....must have a huge main beam and a full inside spread credit.....

Very nice deer.

Ummm no offense but where is the hunter orange? Its clearly a centerfire rifle hes using.

I'm surprised they want it posted on the internet before the magazine is published. That is a hell of a buck!

BS....they probably don't.

Dallan....alot of guys take off their orange before they start taking pictures.

That's a helluva buck though.

thats a big one! I don't see the g1's are they not there or just hard to see in the pic.

Talk about your dream buck!!!!!!

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

Last time I checked it was not a law that you had to take pictures in hunter orange. Regardless, AWESOME DEER!!!! Congrats to the hunter and all involved in that deer.

"You don't have to wear orange if your on private land"

If this is true that could be one of the stupiest rules in existence. If you hunt both public and private do you change your attire at the property line??

That is one awsome buck. Couldn't tell if it has eye gards or not on the pic. Even if it doesn't I believe that I would still have to hang it on my wall.

"Shoot straight and Knock-m-dead."

Congrats to Mr. Austad, what a buck...

What a great front end on that buck. Doesn't get any better than that.

Isn't there a bit of a conflict of interest to be having Mr. Hall score this buck?? He is the outfitter, he wants to promote, therefore, could he stretch the tape?

I would think that Boone and Crockett might have something to say about this. It just seems like there might be alternative motives.

Don't get me wrong, that deer is without a doubt built to score, I just think someone else should be required to officially score the new state record. If indeed this is the case...

Just my opinion to be taken with a grain of salt....

You're not seeing things, the buck doesn't have any G1's. He has 31" mains! I'm sure that they'll have someone nuetral score the buck. I think he'll tip the book! I've talked to a couple of guys involved with it, and these guy know what they're talking about.

That is a big muley don't get me wrong but "no eye gaurds"with out those there is alot of lost inches but i could be wrong

This buck looks like it will have very little deductions. If it has 31 inch main beams and It looks to me like full spread credit, that is 93" with alot of measuring left to do. The more you look at it, the better it looks. I think it can afford the lack of eyeguards.
