Land Owner Tag Question

Hola Amigos,

I wonder if you guys would be kind enough to give me some help. I am trying to figure out how you can find out about obtaining a land owner tag in Colorado. Will the DOW give a list out of people that get the tags in a specific unit? Or do you just have to figure out for yourself who gets them and approach the land owners yourself? I am trying to figure out how to find them in a specific unit, & I have checked the DOW site & found how many are issued, but I don't know how to find out who they are issued to. I sincerely appreciate any help.

It depends are where you want to hunt as to if I can help you.What units are you interested in. Usually you will have to wait until all of the outfitters sell or don't sell their trips. They will start selling their leftover tags at the end of the summer, because ethey have not booked and don't want to eat them. I know of a few guys who have landowner tags, but they say that the landowners seem to all agree that the price of a tag will go up next year.

Contact your local DOW office and ask them they can be more precise. It depends upon how many acres the land owner has. I think the property has to be at least 400 acres. Basically what happens is the landowner fills out the form sends it in and is entered into a drawing and if he draws then he will have a certain amount of tags to give away.
