Any one had any success on the muzzle loader elk hunt yet?
It was a very tough muzzy hunt in the unit I hunted as well. Luckily persistence paid off for me! I scouted a week prior to my hunt and didn't get my bull until the 3rd to last day. The bulls were only out for about an hour at first light and at dark which made for some long, hot days.

It goes on untill the 9th right? good luck to everyone. I'm going to do the muzzle loader next year. I have noticed a lot less people on the muzzy hunt than the general hunt.

My buddy filled his mzzy elk tag opening morning and we had his 'little bull' packed off the mountain by 3pm....

any luck in the central part of the state? I'm going to go after them above town next year. I shouldn't have done the general tag any bull out west. I guess you learn from your mistakes, oh well it was still fun to get out and hunt.

I spent most of the hunt up toward Monte Cristo seen a big heard on a cwmu opening morning but that was all we seen all hunt.

well mabey next year hu? I'm going to take down a tasty spike next year if I have to take the whole damm hunt off!
