very interesting!!!!

so I get up this morning at 4:00am and go out to hike into some narly country to look at some bulls I have found on a LE elk unit in southern utah.I'm watching these bulls trying to get a good look to see what they really were. In the distance I hear an airplane. Well it turns out to be two airplanes side by side flying very low. They circle some peaks and then circle the elk I am looking at. Then in their side by side pattern they begin to grid the rest of the country around me and fly off. I am pretty sure i know what these guys were looking for but what do you guys think about this strange experience. I guess they are looking for elk the right way getting to the airport at sun up and jumpin on a plane, not this get up early and hike your B@&LS off stuff. knida made me mad.

If you'd have gotten the N # I could tell you who owned the planes.

It's just the way it is till the law changes.

Ya figured that i tried to get the n#'s but they were in the sun from where I was at so I couldn't read them for sure. I pretty sure it was some local guides from around here i heard they were going to do some flying i just think that is weird.i guess i just hate seeing it happen three days from the opener but thats life.

There are a lot of planes working for the oil companies in Utah fyling grids for the ground crews to work off of. We have had alot of that in Central Utah. We got some numbers off of a few planes flying under those circumstances. We called them in and they were indeed cleared to fly that low and they were gridding for the oil companies. FYI
