Well you might remember that last year Jacob swam to help a hunter get his elk. Well Jacob got his own elk this year. He is one happy young man. It was a one shot kill. He shot the cow at 345 yards and the 270 winchester with a 140 gr Hornady yanked the rug on this lead cow. The heard started to mill and then left. Some other hunters got a spike and then they helped us by packing the elk out on their 4 wheelers. It was a great day. Ron

Yes that was his first ellk hunt. He had put in for moose and had to take a cow on the second go round. cow, bull it didn't matter he was off his rocker he was so happy. Ron
 
Hey... is that a bull calf? looks like that thing has some nubbs that still haven't broken the skin? Did the plumbing indicate that it was a cow?
 
Congrats Ron and Jacob!! the 1st one is always special. Glad you guys got to share it!

Thanks guys. The rifle looks like it was pointing at him but in reality it was not. I saw him unload it and I agree it looks like it is pointed at him. But it is the angle of the camera. He also moved over a little so I could get in the picture. I appreciate the concern but it was not pointing at him. Thanks. Ron
 
He has a youth doe tag that he is goiing after with his Muzzleloader. I got my fingers crossed. Ron
