I am going to Salmon,ID area this week for my first muley hunt.
Does anyone know what the weather outlook is like ? I have found very different forecasts from several sources.

Anyone have any stories, suggestions or tips for this area of Idaho ?

accuweather.com is a reliable source.
Just type in the zip code and bingo, up to a 15 day forcast.

This site is a good one as well. This site has a lot tools like checking out wind, moon\sun rise\set, and basically any tool you can think of related to weather. I find it very thorough.

Here is Salmon, Idaho's forcast:

You may have to copy and paste that in your address bar.

BTW, bring your lungs! Thats some seriously steep country!

Also keep an eye out for goats and bears.

Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. Never been there but leaving Monday.
I'm going to hunt everything (deer, bear, elk).
I don't know the country and intend to scout several days prior to elk season so I might as well invest in the Idaho Game and Fish Department. Don't think I'll fill all the tags but I will try.
I hunted Wyoming last year and had a great time. Game Wardens were friendly and country was beautiful but too hard to get elk tag.
Hope Game Wardens are nice in Idaho. They can make or break a trip if they want. I will be traveling 1800+ miles. Hope it is worth it.

I read in the USA Today that the National Forest Service is now doing a "Controlled burn" and the smoke from the fire is now blowing into Salmon. I hope that things are cleared out by Sunday. And I hope my campsite is still there !?!?!?

By the way campmorgan, Where are you traveling from ? I am driving just around 1800 miles myself.

I used to travel from Florida by vehicle to hunt Wyoming. Now I live in Nevada. Where you from psu92 and campmorgan? fatrooster.

Fatrooster,
I am traveling from Ohio with three other from Penna. I will be leaving from Toledo, Ohio tomorrow evening.
