I hear tell these are awesome. Right up there with the Swarovski and Leicas. Anyone checked them out?

Yep, they are as good as they say. I've done the research and they can hold their own to any glass. Diehard Swarovskis users may still believe their brand to be a notch above, but after having handled both and considering I am a healthcare professional responsible for the laboratory's $10,000 microscope I think I can speak with authority when I say that Zeiss is a fine choice.

Best place to buy, no matter the brand, is a place in the U.S. Virgin Islands called Boolchands. Check them out on the internet. I'll bet you my dutch dollar that you won't find them cheaper else where and they guarantee a no-problems transaction. I think insured shipping for Uncle Pauls' $7,000 in camera equipment was $50.

Email me if you need more info.

I do not know anything about the Zeiss you refer to but I can say I continue to be impressed with Swaros. On my last hunt we were glassing elk 4 miles away with our 15x56's when it was getting so dark that it was had to see 200 yards with the naked eye.

Cactus, After having traveled alot to the Virgin Islands I am familliar with Bullchands, This was the first place I laid hands on the then cutting edge Ziess 10X40 BGA's.I had to have them! Beware of the Gray market products sold at these places! Some day......you may need to have your glass serviced under warrenty. It MAY be a problem because of the gray market aspect. Check out B&H Photo, you have the choice of buying gray market or USA products. I ended up getting my glass from Cabela's about 15 years ago. One year ago I sent em back to be cullminated(sp) and to have the center hinge snugged up, no charge,no problem, because I had the proper warrenty paperwork. I feel that Ziess has the medical market dominated....After reading a technical bulleten I think that Swarovski glass is a bit better. HOWEVER, the amount of measurable difference(made by machines) could hardly be picked up by the human eye.You cannot go wrong with any of the top manafactures glass.Just beware of future warratnee issues.....A lifetime gaurentee isnt worth crap if your warrantee is void because of gray market issues.

Howdy Buck Nuts. Yep I totally agree. Must watch for the gray-market stuff if you are buying anywhere other than your neighborhood store. Even there it can be a problem. Word from those that I know who have shopped Boolchands is that it is strictly USA warranty products. Have you heard/experienced differently? Sure would like to know.

Hey Brian. How ya been, bud? Haven't been on here for a while. Been too depressed from not getting to go to my home away from home, WYOMING, this year. Building a new house and just didn't feel right spending cash on myself when my wife is wanting some extra goodies for the new place. She hasn't said a word these past 7 trips to the Land of Sage and even told me to go again this year. I just couldn't do it. Its her turn for consideration. Hope you get the big buck this year. Where are you heading to?
