unit 9 elk

Just wanted to see if anyone has been up in unit 9 lately. i was up there about a month ago and saw a few elk but they were very scattered. just curious if anyone has any suggestions for me come this friday when it opens. the water is scarce so i know everyone and there uncle will be on tanks but i have no problem hikin back a few miles in for the day. anything would be great.

The forecast is for 18-48 degree weather, but little moisture this weekend. Tanks can work, but finding one without having someone drive past is another story. I can't think of an area where you can hike in a couple of miles and not cut across a road/2-track that goes down every ridge and draw.
