Here are some pics of a bull my buddy Kellen Cracraft up in Ely, Nevada shot this last week. HE shot him at 635 yards right at sun up. An awesome hunt and an awesome bull. My brother and I came up with a rough gross score of 355 5/8 gross. Suprisingly enough this bull only had 47" main beams! With 50" beams this bull would be pushin 360" BC gross. Then again you add inches to any animal and youve got a bigger one than what ya started with. None the less a great bull. After a 3 hour pack out a good cold beer tasted pretty good. Hope you guys enjoy!

Nice Bull............BUT.........you shouldnt have put that you took a 635 yard shot. I personally would not take that kind of shot even though I practice at that distance. I can promise you that there are some guys on here that are going to SLAM you for taking that kind of shot! Hopefully you had no other choice and could not make a stalk on him.

Other than that..........NICE BULL!!!!!!!!!!

Great Bull! Great Shot too but I would have to agree, I would never say that on here(hope your hide is as thick as your bulls hide)

As the father of hunter on this hunt i am extremly upset that this ended up here without our knowledge and feel the need to write this to explain 1) The bull was shot with a custom built 300 ulta mag that is praticed continually all year round at these distances and i felt very comfortable with him taking this shot. 2) I think it is sad that the pitcures shown are not of him and all the people that help make this hunt a success as this hunt was a team effort with many people involved 3) The score and main beams given are not accurate it is a 7 point as it has devil points on both sides the bull has not been oficially scored so at this time no one knows a true score

LAST EDITED ON Nov-27-07 AT 04:15PM (MST)[p]Never mind...now that Bid Daddy's mad I don't wanna comment anymore. Get over it. It's a nice bull.

Whoa whoa whoa. Hold on a sec here, 1) I was not tryin to take any credit. I said congrats to the hunter and everyone involved. 2) The hunter was shooting a very nice, custom rifle capable of making those shots, and that hunter practices those shots year round and was very comfortable making the shot. 4) As for everyone involved, I dont have a picture of everyone involved. I now have a pic of the hunter with his beautiful bull which I will post right now. As for everyone involved The whole Cracraft family, The Ricci's, The Rowley's, Pat Stork, Kelly Barney Im glad to have been a part of it. As soon as I get a pic of everyone involved I would love to post it, or have someone else post it, give credit where credit is due ya know? Sorry if I offended anyone. I was just proud as hell to be a part of it, and thought I would show the pictures I had in my possesion. So sorry whom ever I P/O'd. Congrats to Kellen as well as everyone involved! Great Bull and a great time!

Chill out "BIG DADDY" pictures of other peoples hunts end up here all the time. If you dont want pictures of your hunt seen by others dont take any! Congrats to the HUNTER nice bull!!!!!!

Huntersdad - Why dont you post the pics that you would like posted and take the time to give credit to everyone that made the hunt happen??? I don't think the intentions were what you think. If I were you I would have called him on the phone and told him to post certain pics that you wanted and have him give credit to certain people that were left out. Not get into a pissing match with someone that was there and most likely helped you out in the killing of that awesome bull.

Either way, Congrats on a very nice bull!!
Just glad I hunt with family and real GOOD friends.

Congrats on a great bull Kellen, smoker for sure..... I don't think you and your family would've spent Thanksgiving any other way....again congrats

huntersdad your reaction was uncalled for but tell your son he got a great bull....

635yd shot is way too far to shoot. Too many variables to deal with out in the field.

I would hope that anyone calling themselves a hunter can get a heck of a lot closer than that to an elk before taking the shot...

LAST EDITED ON Nov-29-07 AT 10:59PM (MST)[p]Elkantlers,

635 is not that far, especially with the equipment these days. Its nice cause if the situation isn't right to get closer i know from my own experience is that i have no problem with a 600-700 yard shot, shoot i will even shoot 800 i have all the confidence in the world in my stuff. And if your not comfortable doing it than thats you, but don't say it is for everyone else. If they have practiced for months on end at that range and are comfortable then let them shoot. Don't say they aren't good hunters either your lookin for a fight. But in my own opinion I give anyone props that have confidence in them selves to shoot these ranges, and to pull it off thats even a better hunter in my eyes.

HuntNevada is Exactly 100% right. Couldnt agree with him more. Thats why were such good buddies. We see eye to eye on just about everything, and I'll defend him from now until the day I die. If you shoot the yardages, and feel confident, and practice and can make the shot, shoot it. The bull is dead both shots right through the heart so obviously he did something right. Thats just like people shootin 250 with a muzzle loader or 80 yards with a bow, if you can shoot it, practice it, and know you can make the shot do it. If your not comfortable, dont practice it, and cant then dont. Its that simple. But dont come on here saying that just cuz you take long shots on animals means your not a good hunter, or less of one at that, That is B/S and really low to say, really low. Now you know everyone on here has there opinions and can believe what they want and thats fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some people question me for shooting 80 yards with my bow, thats fine. I practice it alot, and feel 110% confident in taking that shot, fact of the matter is I probably shoot better groups from 80 that alot of people from 20. And like I said before your entitled to your opinion but remember that is all it is, an opionion. Instead of baggin on people as hunters respect them for their skill. Just cuz you cant do it or dont think its ethical doesnt mean its not. He practiced that yardage and was shooting a custom rifle made to do just that, kill trophy animal at long distances, and oh my gosh, LOOK! It did just that. Todays technology can do it. So dont question it if its been proven. Give credit where credit is due. Happy Hunting.

if your confident with your shooting capabilities @ 635 yrds, whats the big deal, i've seen people do it farther...nice bull...

Nice bull & great shot!

You guys crying about the shot would really sh*t a brick if you saw the Beyond Belief video done by the Best of the West guys. Seriously, you would scream bloody murder. Ever seen a Grizzly Bear DROP in his tracks at 600yrds? OR, how about an elk DROP in his tracks at 800yrds? Awesome footage. If you're capable then do it.

In my opinion it is the gun makers fault for making weapons that can shoot them distances, I think that it is wrong what guns are coming to now days, what ever happen to the days when you actually had to sneak on an animal and shoot him at 200 or 300 yards, not saying I am against shooting distances over 500 yrds, I own a 300 RUM and love it to death, but I can guarantee you this I will make an attempt to sneak within 300 yrds of the animal because it is ethical and means more to me that I was able to sneak in that close without being detected. We have had many hunters shoot bulls over 500 yrds. and they put em down. If you are capable of making those shots by all means do so, but the same thing goes for guys shooting bows, be realistic in your own capabilities, don't shoot distances that you don't practice and feel confident with. Erik tell little Cracraft congrats and his bull thats a good'un.

Congrats on the bull Kellen. And for everyone that is crying about the yardage, why dont you learn to shoot that far. The only reason you are mad is because you cant shoot that far. And congrats again Kellen and everyone else on the hunt.

Yeah im from nevada. S**T, 150 my A**... Thats about the smallest deer that i have seen this year worth putting my binoculars up for... so where are you from? HUH? and if you are capable to shoot that far, then do it, if not, try to get closer.

i am sure that the biggest deer you have seen in your life is maybe 200 thats all of them put together and by the way i am from las vegas... i didnt say i would even think of shooting that far i said your so confident about it what gun do you shoot?

I shoot a 300... oh... and s**t, i would like to see the big deer you've seen in Vegas, not counting the zoo or cabelas. Oh... and do you even own a pair of camo, or do you have to put your sunglasses on for saftey when you open your closet
