My first Muzz bull in Colorado with a T/C black diamond, 50 cal. This bull had a cow with him and my nephew had a cow tag. Both were dropped within 5 seconds. It was the last day of our hunt. Public land hunt in the San Juan Nat'l forest. Luckily we had several guys in our camp...some with muzz tags and others with archery tags. We had lots of help boning the meat and packing it down off the mountain.

Ah . yes , and welcome to MM...

That second picture looks familiar. It looks like one from the original OJ Simpson trial!

Great job. Gotta love those "on three, one, two, bang!"

Congrats on a fine CO bull.
Do you know how many years ago the fire happened?

The fires in that area were in 2001. The new quakies are about 6' tall now and lots of new growth. I've hunted that area since 1991 and the fires improved the food source greatly. The only problem now is all the falling trees when the wind blows.

My gosh, you may have just wiped all the whole herd killing one of each right together like that!! LOL

Looks like a lot of work, but well worth it!!

That is Henderson. He had an either sex archery elk tag. He called in cow to within 35 yards but she was coming closer so he let her come in. One more tree and she would have been at 20 yards. Never saw her again. There we lots of bulls bugling in that area but they just wouldn't come close enough.

Were you the guy that killed a bull on the trail out? Dan told me about that. I was going to meet him for that hunt but couldnt make it down there. Congrats on your bull!

When he was down we saw some huge elk, he was salivating. He was going to come back and try to get one with a buddy of his but couldnt make it. I could not have gone down there anyway, my foot is still a wreck and I need to have it good for Mexico. He should knock one down next year for sure.

yep, that was me....I had already saluted the game and thanked them for the opportunity, told the mountain I'd be back next year, and we were just about off the mountain when we jumped the bull and cow. too bad you couldn't join us...there were quite a few bulls in those canyons, all holding about 9000 to 9200 feet, except for the two that were at the bottom. Still can't believe how it all worked out, but I'm very pleased it did.

'sig'...sorry, i missed this one..great bull..congratulations to both of you. having that much 'help' is always a big 'plus'..
