Massive BC Non-typical (pics)

Here is a buck a buddy shot at 5:00 this evening, only a few short kms from my house. It is a 9x7 with tons of mass. The base measurement on the one side is 6 2/8 inches. On the heaviest side it has over 22 inches of mass. This buck is a Hawg of a deer. Really a huge body on him.

My turn is coming. This is shaping up to be a great year. From talking to the old-timers this is the earliest we've had snow since the forties. A lot of deer are down low right now. The locals are hammering the small bucks so that should mean I'll have the late season 4 point or better season all to myself.

I've been seeing quite the few bucks, just nothing I want to cut my tag on so early. The biggest buck I've seen thus far was actually this morning. A nice mid-170's 4X4. Just not what I'm interested in though.

The ol' cliche 'You can't shoot a big one when you're takin'care of the little ones' really plays into my rationale. There is still way too much of the season left to even be tempted by a buck of that caliber. I have seen several Real Monsters over this past year, so I have my sights set high. I actually am not hunting just any ol' buck, I'm hunting specific bucks. I have even named a few. LOL! I also don't mind if I still have an uncut tag in my pocket at the end of shooting light on Dec 10th. Tagsoup is rather bland and has a bad after taste, but I can still choke it down.

Great buck, BCBOY. I hope you hold out an whack one of those massive old brutes before ther season ends. I hope the snow is early and not through the whole winter, just to avoid stressing the critters. Good luck and post your pics when you bust one. We'll be waiting.
