Idaho elk bowhunt info-please

Thinking of bowhunting Idaho 2008 looking at Lolo zone or Salmon zone so far. any info on these zones during the Sept. season. How are the wolves in these zones? We don't mind packing in and setting up a spike camp if necessary. Thanks for any info. from Wisconsin...fwlplay

Both have wolves, Lolo has less elk. IMO

I checked the stats on 48 and 49 both units have fairly high bowhunter numbers. Is it going to be tough in those units to get something going without running into other hunters?

You can get away from people in those zones. I have heard that the wolves have made it a little tougher but still good with a bow.

What they said. Wolves are really decimating the herds you mentioned. The Sun Valley areas are still "becoming" wolf infested.

I archery hunted the Lolo zone the past two years. We packed in 10-12 miles. We heard wolves every day, and their tracks were all over. I won't be back there again soon.
