Here are a couple pics, the buck I got this year on opening day, I had one day off to hunt so I was meat hunting. I watched a group of 9 bucks off and on for 2 hours and when I finally caught up with them the biggest one wasn't with them anymore. I watched the other 8 for about 20 minutes trying to decide if I wanted the 3 mile drag over the top of the mountain for just a small buck, but finally decided that was what I was there for. This buck was the biggest of the 8 and after I shot him a local rancher that was hunting his land, which I was about 100 yards from his fence, came along and let me drag him to a road that went through his place. Only had to drag him about 3/4 of a mile. My 4 year old son is trying to show him off for the camera

The Turkey is the results of 3 hard hikes with my son, we finally found a group of turkeys and he ended up getting this hen. After he shot they all took off and I missed mine. Can't believe I got outshot by the boy. lol He was pretty excited, but says he will only shoot a tom with the tag he has left.

Nice pics! Thanks for posting. Nice to see your boys growing up right!

Congrats on the buck and good to see young folks getting into the sport! Thanks for posting.

Would you share what unit in Idaho the buck was taken?

Its also nice to hear that not all landowners are jerks!(see "Land Owners" post in the general forum)

idhunters, I got this buck in unit 73. I live in Downey and have been watching some decent bucks, just couldn't find one of them that morning. Oh well, I know of 2 really nice ones that made it through the season, so there is always next year. I will have to keep track of them cause next year my son will be able to get a deer.

Congrats on the buck and turkey for your son. It sure makes it easier when you don't have to drag it as far.
