Unfortunatly, I've got to sell two very good dogs. I'd prefer them to go to an experienced houndsmen (I know, then why I am posting it on this site!) Not sure if you can post anything here but do you guys know of any other good sites where I can post some info. Dogs can be viewed on my photos page at http://community.webshots.com/user/wildlifeservices
Click on the hunting section and scroll down to the three pics of Sam and Rowdy.

Both are nice looking dogs, what do you want for them, how old are they, give us a little background on them and will you try them in the field?

Rowdy is 5, Sam is 4 1/2. Both are Walkers, Rowdy has a bit of Redtick in him. I'd be glad to run them in the field for anyone. Rowdy has been on probably 75 bear trees (CA) and 25-30 lion trees both in CA and CO. Sam has only been on a half dozen bears and about 25 lions. They are both excellent on coons as that is what I run them on in the summer. They've both been on hundreds of coon trees and either would do well in a competition however, I've never entered either of them. I've been asked by several houndsmen if they could enter them, but I've never done it. Both are tree climbers. Sam is without a doubt one of the loudest hounds you will ever hear in the woods. They are both about average nosed dogs, neither being hot or cold nosed. I road my dogs a lot and will be glad to road either of them through a herd of deer or elk. Neither are trash runners. Rowdy turns to a chop on the tree, Sam usually stays with a Bawl but occasionally chops (depends if he can see whats up there!) Both are stone silent around the house. Both in excellent health with all shots and worming up to date. Both have microchips installed. I'd like $1000 for each, I think they are probably worth much more.

Hey FullCryHounds,

I have a question for you about your website. There is a photo on there that was on the cover of Full Cry awhile back. That red dog with a lion by himself up in the snow. On your website you call it "Out on a Ledge"....

Tell me about that dog because it's related to mine. When that photo came out, the guy I got my dogs from told me, "That red dog on Full Cry is related to your dogs."

But beyond that I don't know anything... What do you know about that red dog or it's breeding??

Gracias. -Dawg

The redbone picture was the same picture as that on the cover of FC. I have a redbone that is suppossed to be related to that same dog. I think there is a pic of him standing next to me with a lion. I was given that PIC when I bought my dog when he was about 1.5 years old. I don't know who took it but was surprised to see it on the cover when it came out. Any ideas who took it? My redbone is an outstanding cold nosed strike dog, but he's not one of the dogs for sale. Hope everyone is have better conditions then we are here in CO.

HD, I got my dog from a lady in SO. CA. that was using him in commercials for TV. He had been neutered but did have papers. I made a big mistake and through out the papers because I figured he was cut and they were useless. Now I wish I had them because I'd love to know more about his line. My dog is a natural and the only training he ever had was the first weekend I had him, I put him with the other dogs, he went to the tree with the other dogs but didn't know what to do. My buddy grabbed his head and pointed the cat out to him. He rolled into the tree and opened up. That was it, he's never run trash and been the best dog I've ever owned. By the way, he was free. When I called the lady to ask about the dog, she said she had to get rid of him because all he liked to do was chase all her cats. I went down and picked him up as soon as I hung up the phone. That picture was in the envelope with his papers.

Just an assumption but if the dogs red and registered, came out of calif. and was used in any showbiz type atmosphere the dog probably is Red Hill Seirra bred. OW Hill in Stockton bred that line of dogs, becoming most noted for his dogs used in the original Where the Red Fern grows movie. I know from speaking to him he has sold alot of dogs over the yrs to "hollywood handlers" etc for commercials, movies and whatever.

I guess my buddy was mistaken because he was thinking the dog came out of southern Utah and wasn't registered...

Maybe I'm getting two pictures mixed up in my feeble brain. If I recall, the picture that ran on Full Cry had an article along with it that might have mentioned something about the dog.

I was wondering, but it sounds like mistaken identity this time.

Take care.
