Sound shots?

I was talking to a guy the other day who was telling me about a run in with a guy that he watched shooting into a clump of trees during the deer hunt. He thought the guy had a shot deer so he went over to see the trophy or to help track. When he caught up with the shooter and asked what he had shot, the guy said, "I don't know, that was a sound shot" apparently, it is common practice to hear a noise and then turn and shoot towards the sound. Has anyone else heard of "sound shots?" Knowing that there are guys on the mountain like this, its scares the hell out of me to go out in the field.

Anyone who does something so incredibly stupid in this day and age, should have their guns taken away unless they learn to handle them safely. It never ceases to amaze me how low some people can drag the lowest common denominator down to.
