I am very interested to know how close you got to them. I love the pics, but it looks like you were harrasing them. With all the snow they are dealing with any extra energy the use will make them weak.

You should know this. I can tell by looking at the pics that you were close enough to them to make them run.

I hope that everyone remembers that the animals are struggling this winter and do not need to be bothered.

'2pointer'...at no point did i make them run. i am using a 400mm lens, and know 'my limits'...while picture #4 make look as though he is running, he was coming off the hill trying to 'catch up' with his buddies. if you think for one minute i am out there 'harassing' these fellows, you are way out of line. anyone at anytime is welcome to tag along, and see for yourself. and that's all i have to say about that...

Littlefoot,

Fantastic!! I am not trying to start anything here. It is just one of my biggest pet peeves when another sportsman harasses animals on their winter range.

I am very glad to hear that you did not get that close to those elk. Like I said in my first post, I like your pictures. You obviously have a talent. Thanks for sharing it.

I am not trying to hi-jack your post, but I hope that people are aware of the cost of getting to close to these animals this time of year.
