So I read today about a contest they are having on this forum and they're giving away an elk hunt...
To someone who makes "useful, informative posts"... I believe the exact lingo was:
"Each month we'll be selecting 20 posts here in the forums that we find to be beneficial to other users. If you provide some helpful info."
So my question is, how can they even consider giving this to anyone but a hound guy?
If we aren't "beneficial, helpful and informative" what are we?
I'd like to take this chance to blow my own horn and put in a pitch for me winning... but anyone on this forum would qualify.
Some informative, beneficial, helpful posts I've made to others:
1. Demonstrated to all that you should never let your wives, girlfriends or daughters anywhere near a hound guy.
2. Shown firsthand the devastating effects of years and years of alcohol, drug and all manner of addictions.
3. Given other hound guys a fair chance at catching game by clearing all the deer and elk out of the country.
4. Clearly shown the riches to rags violent ripple effect that buying hound dogs has had on my life. From wealthy software engineer to unemployed, broke depraved bluetick jockey in just 10 short years. Why I'd guess I've saved at least 30 guys on this site from buying hounds and suffering the same fate.
5. Hunting with Kevin, Ed, and CB... This alone shouldn't qualify me to win this hunt, it should give me a bronze star, a purple heart and the damn Nobel Peace Prize!!!
6. Generated income for the DWR with all the fines for game violations over the years... and hey, at some point they are bound to catch me poaching those sheep and that will be some HUGE income I've generated. Everyone has their own method of giving back, and mine happens to be in fines for convictions.
7. I've clearly shown that even the mentally handicapped can have success in the outdoors, and while it's just a heart warming story to deer and elk hunters, it's been a source of great hope and inspiration for the coyote hunters.
8. Our verbal slugfests with Fishon have single handedly brought the SFW out of obscurity and into the public eye. Prop 5 my butt!! Admit it, y'all didn't have any idea what the SFW was until we started in with Fishon and the boys!! ;-)
9. Have shown time and time again that even the most lowlife, drunken, slothful, dragass, no account, thrice convicted felon has a place in the outdoors and hunting. It's given hope to sheep hunters world wide!!
10. And time and time again I've pointed out the many flaws in the black and tan breed, but most of all the character flaws in those that raise, feed and hunt the black dogs. All of this was Free!! I didn't even charge anyone for this information.
Clearly, if they give this hunt to anyone but a hound guy, it's an injustice of Biblical proportions!!!
Founder, just give me the Elk hunt and no one will get hurt out here. ;-)
