Just curious how many people dropped out of the draw due to the rise in cost of tags and having to purchase a license to apply?

I APPLIED, GOT 9 POINTS FOR DEER......NOT SURE WHERE I,M GOING WITH THEM. MIGHT TRY TO DRAW IN 2009, ANY IDEAS WHERE A GUY WILL GET DRAWN (NR/RIFLE) WITH 10 POINTS. THANKS FOR THE HELP....YD.

have'nt applied yet. Still trying to decide on unit. 9 points for elk. I want to use my muzzleloader. Any suggestions on units would be appreciated.

Did my application on line yesterday. Only 3 points for Elk and Mt Goat but you can't win if you don't play. I also started applying for Elk & Mt Goat for my son who turns 14 in a couple months. He should have a good chance in 30 years when he is my age!!!!! (all I ask in return is that he takes me along, even if I'm too old and have to stay in camp)

My son and I are in. I've got 8 elk points and he has 7, we each have 5 bighorn points. We're in for the long haul, even after we draw elk tags.

I'm a non-res with 8 points for deer. In for the long haul. $75.00 for a point is pretty cheap. I have wasted $$$ on more stupid things.

Myself- 7 points for elk
My dad- 9 points for elk
My brother- 3 points for elk

All non-residents and all in it until we draw.An extra $200 for Utah this year.

The only state except Idaho I don't always apply for is Utah (Stupid) Since they changed, I'll be in every year adding to my measly 3 points. Gonna start my girlfriend for antelope this year too. Guess since I'm spending more that $6 I feel I'm getting something. (Stupid)

I have three folks dropping out because of the fees and license purchase.

All are in the sub-5 point pool on LE elk and OIL species.

They do not hunt unless they draw a tag so it has been years since any of them hunted anyways.

All three are residents 2 guys and the one single mom.

Holy cow...residents with points and they are dropping out. That's only $32 for the hunting/fishing license. Only $17 for a small game license. I'm not surprised about non residents but residents surprise me a little.

It's always an adventure!!!

I strongly considered dropping, since I have only 3 elk and 5 moose points. In the end, I ended up applying. I'd like to give it a year or 2 to see who drops outs and see if UDOW desides to change management strategies in a few units (more tags).

AWLB--yeh it kinda surprised me too seeing as none of them are appling like a family member or 2 and it adds up quickly to some degree $$...

Just a single applicant on each of them... I kinda can see the single mom deal and her not going for it on the $60.00 total...

Freedom of Choice type deal once again...

I have been applying myself and four others, all of whom are nonresidents.
We all have 3 points for elk. I am the only one willing to spend the $75 to apply. I just hope I don't invest this for the next three or four years just to see the fees go up to $175 similar to AZ which I am backing out of. I should count on it though.
