..do elk eat oranges?..

o.k., so momma kicks me out of bed early, and says, "if yer gonna go, ya better get goin'"...so i do...on the way out the door, as she hands me a hot cup of 'joe', i look at the thermometer...2 degrees...weatherman said it was supposed to be warmer than yesterday, but it wasn't...i go...i know, i'm a fool...got there, found some old 'friends'...

by the number of tracks around, i figure there has to be more...i decided this is a good morning for a 'sneak',...parked the sno-mobile, and headed up the hill...snow was deep, but hey, i 'hired on tough', right?.. after i 'shed' the back-pack and heavy coat, i was able to 'walk on top'...what a relief...'peeked' over the hill, and saw 'horns'...

he had an 'itch'...

still 'scratchin'...

off to the right, i detect 'movement'...

still more 'movement' just to the left...

this looks like it's gonna be fun...

see'em both?

now, one of them 'steps out'...remember him? missing a '2nd' on his left side...

off to the side, 3 others 'step out'...

this one got 'separated', and is 'lost'...

where'd they go??

one 'last look'...

into 'the hole'...

just the 'tips'..

they all got 're-united' shortly thereafter...

now, what i want to know is....do elk eat oranges...?? somebody tell me...

Littlefoot, those are AWESOME pictures. Elk in snow, not much better. Knowing they are in WA gets my motor going everytime you post them.
